How does one make friends? Maybe its because I have autism or something but I've always been a loner and struggled to connect with others. I try to bond with people at work (the only place I socialize as I just rotate between work, the gym, and home) and I've hit it off with a couple of people but its never been more than just work friends. A lot of them have formed friendships and hang out outside of work but I am often not invited or even thought of. I also don't work with any single attractive women so I haven't been able to meet any women either. I suppose it doesn't help that a lot of the people I work with are pretty basic and only interested in sportsball while I am into different pursuits (some of them solitary like cars/motorcycles and movies while the others I wouldn't speak about such as vidya and anime). I have a few interests such as /out/ that could be social but I have no one to go with. What is the process of making friends? What does one say and where does one go? I am 28, I've been happy alone but now want to broaden my horizons
>>34615650I could tell you but it's probably gonna be useless advice so i won't bother on elaborating. 1. Don't suffer. 2. Have a low mental filter and comment everything everywhere. 3. Invite people out yourself. 4. if you want a girl do the above in chick band concerts, symphonic metal and anything you would have called gay as a teen. Basically be a child again. This doesn't address how to stop feeling anxious and afraid in the process.
>>34615692Regarding your first point can you elaborate? What do you mean? As for the others, I am open to doing other things but am not sure what to go do. I don't know about going to chick bands but I enjoy symphonic metal like Nightwish and Within Temptation (although they don't come through my city often if at all). What do you say when asking a girl out (or where to encounter girls to ask out) and how do you ask other people to do things without sounding gay? I do feel anxious/paranoia regarding social situations sometimes, I hope that will go away with exposure.
Pls help
