Do cats prefer their home to be warm or cool? I'm looking to adopt a cat but my apartment gets really hot during the summer. Even when it is in the 60s or 70s outside, the inside can go above 80. I have one air conditioner, but it only cools one room. Should I buy more or do they prefer hot environments?
I know they like to sit in sun light, but isn't that different from regular temperatures? Or is the problem humidity? I don't want them to have a heat stroke while I am at work...

warmer. cats are naturally desert creatures. they are least stressed between 85-95F/30-36C

Cats tend to prefer the same 60 to 70 degree temps we do, but they can survive fine in the 80s. Just make sure there is ventilation and plenty of water

I see, thank you. I bought an air conditioner and so far I don't think it's making a difference. The air flow in my place is horrendous.
