How the FUCK do I learn how to dress when I just don't have an eye for it at all?
>>34616131Copy someone else's outfits. How about Adrian Monk, he dressed well, just steal his wardrobe
There's an italian word (god I hate italians), "sprezzatura", which basically means appearing effortlessly put together. Think about how your pic rel would basically be nega Chris Chan if you added an amulet, and yet
>>34616131buy stuff that needs to be tailored instead of fast fashion, it'll look great and last a while
Usually others will tell you how to dress. People want other people to look good. Honestly just wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing it's how society works.
>>34616131Just go for simple outfits at first. Don't try tucking unless you really know what you're doing (but be aware that some clothing is meant to be tucked), don't wear graphic tees or anything too out there until you start to get a feel for things. Look at outfits and styles you think look good and try to incorporate aspects of into your own wardrope but never copy 1:1 and make sure you make it match your own style and your emvironment and the current fashion. Match colors, match textures, pay attention to how clothes fit when you combine things (baggy or slim fit stuff doesn't always work together), buy clothes that fit you properly (not too tight, make sure sleeves maych the length of your arms and cuff pant legs if you need to but also ansolutely don't do it if you don't need to).And most importantly: NEVER EVER LARP. Stay true to yourself and don't try to force some weird specific style, do not try too hard to fit a certain aesthetic, especially if you have little experience with fashion or the aesthetic is fairly uncommon or not "in" right now. You do not want to wear a "costume", you will look like a fag/autist if you try too hard. Also make sure to never overdress or underdress, take note of when you should go more formal or casual, there is a lot of wiggle room there obviously but you can fuck it up if you try too hard to fit a specific look.
>>34616131If youre white, What colour are your veins through your skin? Green? Wear warm tones (google it). Blue? Wear cool tones (also google). Wear clothes that fit!! Colour match with neuteal colours or complementing. Like if youre wearing a yellow shirt, wear a zip up that's white, black, grey, red or blue. Again, minding tones that match your skin.Refer to picrel for colour matching.

>>34620975The skin shit really doesn't matter that much man
>>34620975I feel like this is more of an advanced tip than beginner, no?
>>34621027It does, though.>>34621037"Wear clothes that fit and complement your skin tone and use this simple chart to know what colours dont look tacky together" is not advanced.
I’d recommend fa but they don’t really know how to dress themselves either
>>34616131Fashion is mostly about owning what you wear, rather than what you wear.

>>34616131Develop an eye for fashion by critiquing other's outfits. See what you like and dont like. Think about things like fit, fabric color and texture, silhouette, and how the different pieces of the outfit go together.>OP picrelHe's wearing a pretty cool shirt. The striped pattern looks good. However, this shirt looks baggy on him, but it makes him look very slim. His sleeves sit low on the elbow, and the hole is very wide, making his arms look lanky. At the waist, the shirt looks too broad, if he didnt tuck it in, it would look like a dress. The way it looks when it's tucked is somewhat sloppy. At the shoulders, the shirt fits very nicely. Hence, shirt would benefit from shorter and more tapered sleeves, and a more tapered body. The pants fit very nicely at the waist. They have a high rise and fit him very well. I think they would benefit from a belt as an accessory. They are somewhat slim throughout the thigh, and then slightly taper outwards at the lower leg. This silhouette is very fashionable right now, and it gives his legs a nice shape. The pants seem a bit long (look at the break on his back leg), but would probably go better with boots rather than loafers. In terms of shoes, I don't often like black shoes with blue jeans, I think the colors fail to complement each other. The off-white socks might go well with a different outfit, but I find it looks sloppy in this one. Overall, I quite like this fit. It makes him look slim and tall, with broad shoulders, and accentuates an X shape. I think the shirt could fit a little bit differently on him. The shoes look off. Would cop the pants, would cop a shirt with a similar pallette. In terms of accessories, a field watch would go quite well with this fit. A trucker cap coordinates well with this outfit, but will make him look like a cowboy. A tote or hip bag might also go well.
>>34616131I think the guy in picrel should wear something instead of oxfords. He is going for the soft indie boy look and he looks nice. It suits him well. The tucked in shirt is not it imo but overall he looks alright.
