>Be me>Be a college student>Send out job applications on Indeed>All responses are AI>No real person gets back to you>Now Summer started>It's June>Unsure what to do>Hoping someone responds>Should probably look into getting a volunteer opportunity tomorrow>Hope someone is out there reading my applications, not just bots
>>34626211if its a major company, say over 200 employees, they are probably filtering applicant with AI.manage your expectations.
Go for small firms, chances are higher that ai has't killed their hr filtering
>>34626211look up whatever GitHub posts daily listings of new jobs, and apply early in the morning when they're fresh. they don't even look at submissions after the first 40 or 50. you apply to 10 things a day for months and months and if you get em in early in the morning you will get 1 or 2 interviews after several months
>>34626211By usiing Indeed you are sending generic applications, and can't be surprised at getting generic replies. Use Indeed and other sites as back-up just in case they work, but don't rely on them. Apply to individual companies (and if you can, to individual department heads by name) with individualized letters/CVs. Show the company you are interested in THAT company and not just "a job."
>>34626416>Go for small firms, chances are higher that ai has't killed their hr filteringI'm not OP, but where can I find them?
>>34626211Hey. 1st time posting on this board and Yeah I guess i could use advice if anyone is willing to help. >Been unemployed for 6 months. >Left old job due to some bullshit demotion and them unable to afford to pay me anymore due to budget cuts. So lately I been thinking of changing a Career path. I currently have a security guard license since that was my last job and plan to keep it as backup. Unfortunately its so hard to find "decent" security work (no standing up position fuck those, not doing that) in NYC even though ive sent over 20 applications. This economy sucks so bad. I have experience with Supervisor positions for 2 years as a security guard which I wish to find more supervisor positions because why go back to the start when I have a higher level of work but now lately I been thinking of other works such as painting or conductor for a freight railroad and eventually train engineer. Was wondering if someone would help? >>34626476>>34626927I guess Ill keep those in mind
>>34626927I've gotten all my jobs through indeed but I do agree with you. It's cool when you get a bite but good lord do they bait you with scam calls until you do.
