I just turned 28 4 weeks ago. Life is passing me by and I have nothing to show for it. tried and failed miserably in crypto despite having it all right in front of me. I'm currently attending community college pursuing network technician and cloud admin certs to hopefully work in a data center or be an admin. I'm pretty desperate to re-build the wealth I lost in crypto and I got an Email on my school's email address from the national guard. they are offering a 25k sign on bonus to join and they'll pay for all my education in addition to paid job training in any IT field I desire.Should I take this? what is the national guard like. is it like the rest of the army or more relaxed? can I expect a full metal jacket experience? do I have to live on base? Is this offer just a bait and switch? anyone have experience with the national guard and tell me what it's like and if this offer is worth considering or am I just being taken advantage of as a desperate aging wagie.

Just go study nursing . It's a steady guaranteed easy job for the rest of your life. $40/hr. Double time on night shifts, triple time on stat holidays, etc etc.

I used to be a doctor and hated being left alone with kids dying on me, and being blamed for not being perfect when they survived, I got scolded for being thorough and giving a good service because that meant I was slow.
