This is probably because a large portion of men just swipe on any mildly pretty face, or maybe even any non-fat girl. So these women don't feel like they need to try at all as they still get hundreds of likes. This is further supported by the strong negative correlation between looks of the girl, and effort/words in the profile.
Meanwhile 95% of these profiles just give me nothing to work with, or to discern if I may like this girl beyond her looks. And as someone who is fairly eccentric and "picky" (I know I won't get along with normal women), that means my swipe right rate is definitely under 1%. So I ended up going out alone and I think overall it turned out OK and it was a fun time.
The ratio was terrible, like 15 guys per girl, but I somehow still got wingwoman'd into talking with a girl the whole night and ended up with her number and we left together and got food.

I feel really shallow for saying this but while she was cutish she wasn't the best nor the worst looking in the room, and I'm not really sure if I want her to be my gf based purely on looks.
