I want to fall asleep while being cuddled, but I always slept alone all my life so I can't fall asleep when somebody else is in my bed. Solutions? It will probably wreck my relationship if I demand we sleep in different beds
This problem is stupid. You got greater issues than simply demanding sleeping in different beds. You'll probably make a whole bunch of other arbitrary demands too. Rather than the different beds being a deal-breaker, it's this rigid inflexibility and refusal to work on it that is the actual issue. The solution is, just sleep together and then you'll realise you get used to it. Or you realise they snore or have annoying bed habits and that different beds would be functionally useful and convenient instead, rather than just making it an arbitrary demand "because I'm not used to it!!1!".>I can't fall asleep when somebody else is in my bed.Everyone gets tired enough to fall asleep eventually. If you're not tired then go do some back breaking labour all day and see if you're unable to sleep just because le foreign presence in my bed.
>>34634867It will take a very very few awkward and uncomfortable nights for you to get accustomed to sharing the bed
>>34634877>>34634896also I move a lot at night, my body gets uncomfortable if I don't, and I can't move while she's in my bed because I'd wake her up
>>34634908Yeah well at least try it out first and if it's bad then do the different beds for functional convenience.
>>34634912how do I get used to it though? that's not something I can choose
>>34634914By actually trying it out.
>>34634941we slept together once already. I couldn't fall asleep the entire night. I was so bored laying there for 8 hours doing nothing man
>>34634951So figure out why. Not tired enough? Annoying habits? Scared of judgement from partner? Etc. just like any insomniac would need to do
>>34634951That's like saying "I lifted weights once already and I'm not any stronger, so there's no point in trying it more since it doesn't work". If it takes you weeks to get used to it, then it takes you weeks. You aren't going to get anywhere in life by giving up easily and ignoring the fact that all progress comes through repetition.
