>tfw told by people in my life that I'm incredibly smart>tfw I feel that my life has been underwhelming because I'm not rich unlike people who are incredibly retarded>tfw idk how I can change thisQuestion, how can I parlay my intelligence in order to make money? Like I have a general knowledge of many things and I enjoy learning something new every day. What skills should I polish to improve my chances in making it?
>>34635541I can't help you with making money, but it may be helpful to know what intelligence and wealth have an inverse correlation. The more intelligent a person is, the more readily he realizes that wealth does not contribute to his happiness. Which isn't to say that you should go out of your way to avoid making money, just that you shouldn't feel bad or diminished in your worth on the basis of how much money you have.
>>34635543You know I don't care for being like ultra rich. I just want to be wealthy enough to have my own house in a safe area and have basically fuck you money so I wouldn't need to worry about nothing.
>>34635549The more you have, the more you'll need to worry about retaining what you have. Not that you shouldn't strive towards wellness, because you definitely ought to, but don't envision a future in which your comfort consists of external possessions that can't be taken away from you. They can and will be taken from you, because all possession ends in parting. The only genuine and lasting security rests on what can never be taken away from you, which is your own conduct and good will. Internalizing that will make the rest of your journey a pleasant one, no matter how it goes.
>>34635541Most men replace action with overthinking. I also like to fall into the trap of thinking of myself as intelligent.I have made the most progress when I did retarded things and learned something the hard way.
>>34635541>life has been underwhelming because I'm not richStop tying your worth to a dumb metric.
>>34635578>retarded thingsImportant correction, I should have said hard things. Because I only realized they were retarded after the fact.
>>34635563This is what someone born with wealth and who never experienced poverty would say. If I had more money I would live at better place, with better access to health and be able to go to all the places I want to be. While I understand that money doesn't buy happiness, it certainly gives you more avenues to better pursue it. For example, if you are wealthy enough you can hire someone to clean your house.
>>34635941I wasn't born with wealth, I just found happiness with very few possessions. Happiness can never be pursued externally, so wealth can't give you the means to pursue happiness. Happiness can only be found by looking inward, which is something that no amount of money can help you with. None of this is to say that you shouldn't allow yourself to have prosperity, the key to keep in mind is that your happiness, well-being and peace of mind cannot be allowed to rest and depend upon prosperity. If you end up in that state, your entire life will be a revolving door of anxieties and worries.
>>34635984If you have enough money you wouldn't have a boss. If you don't have a boss you become your own boss. If you have money you can tell someone to fuck off. That's the value of money. It gives you the power to tell someone to fuck off.
>>34635993Being your own boss doesn't absolve you of responsibilities or protect you from loss and disaster. It's better to be a man for all seasons, than to be someone who depends on wealth and ideal circumstances for his independence.
