My psychologist and my psychotherapist, both women in their 40s, say that I'm "not ugly". What does it mean? What should I do with this information?
>>34638067Pay the more and see if they start calling you "handsome".
>>34638087I'm not paying them anything. The taxpayers are.
>>34638097Get a third therapist and put them all in a room, trust me they will work multiplicatively
>>34638067You should conclude that you are, in fact, not ugly. You should not conclude anything else.
>>34638067No one is going to say to an ugly person's face "you are ugly". Especially if you're paying them money. If they said you were ugly they would fear you would stop paying them, since they think you would feel insulted. Psychiatrists are especially prone to this. Most of them are professional people pleasers who act like GPT, they just mirror back your experiences and add a positive or feel good twist to it. (This is why AI is going to replace these people, their profession is easily copied by algorithm).Women are especially dishonest about things too, even if their intentions are nice, "niceness" can be dishonest. Women are non-confrontational, they are not problem solvers. They are more supportive and soothing, and they will offer that even if reality is showing them to their face there is a problem.. "it's not your fault. You're not ugly. You aren't actually x or y, you are a valuable z!".Combine the two, female + psychologist and you got yourself a chatGPT bot in real life who just wipes your ass and suffocated reality behind a feel good blanket. However OP, there is such a thing as facial dysmorphia. Where someone who is average-looking or even very attractive 100% feels ugly. No matter how many people tell them they're attractive they will never believe it. They see ugliness in the mirror, others see attractiveness. It's a real psychological phenomena. I've seen guys who I swear to God were make model material, who after taking to then man to man, they are actually depressed as shit but they hide it and they genuinely believe they are ugly. It's a mindfuck to witness. You could have facial dysmorphia bro, there is that chance your psychologist is telling the truth.
>>34638115>No one is going to say to an ugly person's face "you are ugly".No American lol.
>>34638067Notice how they said you aren't ugly but at the same time didn't say you are beautiful, handsome ect. It's very telling especially considering their professions.t. Femanon
>>34638294Psychologists ain't gonna risk complimenting patients for professional reasons. Some lonely people do this thing called "transference" where they start catching feels for their therapist because the therapist is the first person to attempt to connect with them in years or even decades. Also us men are kinda retarded when it compliments. If a woman calls us handsome or pays a simple compliment we genuinely have to brainstorm and figure out if she wants to have sex or not or want to date or not or if it was just a basic compliment with no agenda.
>>34638067Maybe you're not ugly

>>34638294>It's very tellingWhat exactly does it tell?>Notice how they didn't say you are beautiful, handsome ect.Why would they? In short, I believe I'm ugly, and I obsess over my appearance to the point that I base my self-esteem and self-worth solely on how I look, which means they're effectively zero. Both women said it in response to me bitching and moaning about how ugly I am, but didn't really try to convince me I'm not.
>>34639303>but didn't really try to convince me I'm notBecause it'd be a waste of time. You've set your mind on dwelling in self-pity and complaining about how uglyyou are, so there's nothing they can to DIRECTLY make you change your mind.
>>34638342>Some lonely people do this thing called "transference" where they start catching feels for their therapist because the therapist is the first person to attempt to connect with them in years or even decades. This happened to me with the psychologist, even though I only saw her once. She evaluated me and referred me to the psychotherapist. The thing is, she does psychotherapy herself, and I was heartbroken that I wouldn't see her again. I don't drive, and it took me around two hours to get to her office. The psychotherapist she referred me to is in my city...
>>34639311>there's nothing they can to DIRECTLY make you change your mindIf they knew they couldn't manipulate me, doesn't it prove that they were telling the truth, then?
