So how does this work? Do I stand in front of a jury or does the judge just give me a punishment?Am I gonna have to do community service?I'm really hoping I just get a fine...
>>34640646Depends on the offense. Most traffic stuff you go before a judge, although you do have a right to request a jury in some states.
>>34640646There won't be a jury involved unless you're trying to claim you didn't actually do the thing you're accused of.
>>34640646You probably won't even see a judge unless you contest the ticket. A clerk will tell you how much the fine is, you'll pay him and walk away
>>34640646I’ve been to court several times for tickets and have never seen a jury. If you aren’t contesting the charges, you may just be able to pay the fine online or over the phone without even going to court.
>>34640646depending on the ticket, you might be able to plea for a lesser charge & end up paying substantially less.Look up your local state/area followed by ticket reddit & see what people have done under similar circumstances. If you want more specific advice, you'd need to provide what the charges are & as specific of a location you can give. ie, town is likely not necessary but county or state is

He demanded to see my license after I stopped and waited for him and gave me a ticket without letting me explain myself. Didn’t even ask where I was going until he already wrote me up
