how does one deal with burnout? I've overcome it a few times in my life but recently its just been constant stagnation and isolation, about a year or two at this point. I want to make new friends/get a girlfriend but i have no motivation to do so, and every time i try and push through the process i just end up more burned out. currently all i really do is art but i dont want to make that my whole life. having people come to me has never really worked out so i cant just wait around and hope people become my friends.

realize friends are overrated. Also what happens when ur arounf people, do u feel happy , relaxed or anxious? is the latter, then u dont lactually ike people, you just dont like to be considered a weirdo. Work on that and acceot yourself as an asocial being

There are endless reasons you may be experiencing burnout. First place to look is energy issues, because if that's not anywhere near optimal you won't have the motivation to fix whatever psychological issue is at play.
List a typical day in your life & everything you eat so we have a baseline of things.

I'm healthy, fit even. diet is mostly tinned fish and carbs like spaghetti or rice, with some fruits. no noticeable health issues. plenty of free time that i spend masturbating or working on projects. theres really no physical reason as to why i feel this way i just kinda do, its been a constant throughout my life, im leaning towards not having friends like >>34641513 said since i can live without them, but i like having a girlfriend, and not having friends tends to put them off after a little while so nothing lasts. its weird because i know for most people its not all sunshine and rainbows but i feel like they have a much greater drive to socialize than i do, the whole process is like pulling teeth for me and doesnt yield good results. i think the answer is im just autistic or something, but that feels like a copout.

Define burnout. You can't. It's not real.
>no motivation
Lack of motivation is caused by unclear goals. Break down "new friends" into a multi step process with SMART goals (look up the acronym).
>but how can i break down getting new friends/gf into these steps!!!
Again, that's your problem. You don't know what it is exactly you want, you only have some vague idea, so you can't start moving towards it, so you don't have motivation, and once you try to "push through", the vaguely expected results don't measure up because you didn't give it a rational thought.

is this chatgpt? feels so inhuman and like it misses my point entirely. its not a vague goal and its worked for me before, i know the steps and have been successful in the past, i am burnt out. dont patronize me.

What kinds of feelings have you been using to push yourself in the past? Do you have an inherent sense of enjoyment or satisfaction when doing things, or are you instead using negative feelings as fuel? Stuff like "I can't see myself here, I don't want to be alone, I don't want to be seen as less, I'm scared that if I don't do this I'll never do this, I'm sick of this being the current state of my life and it needs to change"

What kinds of feelings do you have when you actually achieve goals? Is it a sense of recognizing on an intellectual level that what you've achieved is impressive and feeling a sense of pride/satisfaction in that, but still feeling burned out?

it is mainly just negativity, being afraid of being alone. i loathe being in group settings but would push myself to take part in them so i dont "miss out" i guess. when bad things happen in social settings, these events just run on a loop in my head which wears me down i guess, its like i physically cant stop thinking about them day in and out, like a psychic attack or something. still i have a desire for connection, my mindset just doesnt work for it.
