I recently noticed something on my body that could be a sign of bad posture. As shown in the picture one side is a bit curved while the other one is pretty much straigth (sorry for the lack of specific terminology, english is not my native language).I exaggerated the effect in the image to better show the problem.I suppose this is caused by the big amount of time I spend sitting in front of a computer.Do you know any way to fix this before it becomes worse/permanent?
that's scoliosis>Do you know any way to fix this before it becomes worse/permanent?i don't. but there are ways to do it. a physical therapist may know. some fitness experts know (jeff cavaliere has exercises for correcting forward head for example.)to my knowledge at least, misalignments are not permanent, but they will generally take time and effort to fix proportional to the seriousness of the problem.
hi op, i have scoliosis from sitting too much at my pc and school, just like you but its not extreme to the right or left, but kyphosis.mandatory visit at an orthopaedist for you, he will send you to make xrays of your back. then you make again an appointment awith him and he will gauge the xrays. probably physical/calisthenics therapy for you.not a big dealits going to get worse tho if you dont tackle it soon ie N O W.>.t did exactly thati waited years and years and my intervertebral discs were protruding, if i waited a little longer i wouldve needed surgery, but i instantly started physical therapy just like my doc suggested and well, im still in remission but the back pains are like 85% gone. and only 1 spinal disc is damaged. im eating lots of collagen now to heal that too.its good that i dont have to work at all so i can fully focus on recovering (im a pretty laid back and a s.l.o.w. guy so i need that time)doc told me sitting is poison. if one must sit, then do it 30mins at a time. 30 mins sitting 30 mins standing and so on.
>>34641970see a physical therapist. Do NOT go to a chiropractor. Do not try to diagnose yourself.I have sciatica and I was convinced it was from a herniated disk. I spent WEEKS doing research and convinced that I was down the right path. However, the symptoms never improved. I finally saw a PT and it turns out that one of my legs is longer than the other, and it's fixable. If I would have continued under the assumption that I had a herniated disk, I could have fucked my back up worse. Now my symptoms are slowly improving and I can actually walk without excruciating pain.tl;dr don't listen to the internet. See a professional.
