My father found my journal and he read the things i wrote about my school and what i wanted to do. He yelled at me and beat me up because of it. He obligated me to go a therapist. Am i obligated to tell my true thoughts to the therapist? Can the therapist intenalize me without my consent? If i dont take the medicine they give me, will he call the police?

>Am i obligated to tell my true thoughts to the therapist? No.>Can the therapist intenalize me without my consent? It's extremely rare, not impossible, I've told therapists about my suicide plans and they tried to help without chucking me in a psych ward>If i dont take the medicine they give me, will he call the police?lol no. There's really nothing to be worried about.
>>34644011He beat you up then forced you to go therapy? Your dad is a funny guy
>>34644011>Am i obligated to tell my true thoughts to the therapist? No. But he or she won't be able to help you if you don't, so why not give it a try?>Can the therapist intenalize me without my consent? If you are an imminent threat to either your own safety or to other people's safety, that might happen. For example, if you say "I sometimes wish I were dead" then nothing will happen. If you say "I have bought a gun and some ammunition. I am planning to shoot myself with it on Friday night." then committing you might be a possibility.>If i dont take the medicine they give me, will he call the police?Therapists can't give you medicine; only a doctor (for example, a psychiatrist) can do that. If you are prescribed medication then then the police can't possibly get involved unless (maybe) if you are psychotic and pose a serious risk to others. For example, if (when you don't take your medication) you believe that other people are aliens or demons and that you need to kill them to protect yourself, and you stop taking your medication, that might lead to you being hospitalised and medicated. But if it's a case of not taking antidepressants, then certainly not. However, if you are prescribed medication, you should try taking it to see if it helps or not. It might.
>>34644011Could be your chance to have a 'professional' convince your parents to let you change schools. My life would be a lot better right now if I hadn't been stuck with the same group of bullies for most of my childhood while my parents and teachers pretended not to notice shit.
