I am someone who has already cut major distractions out of my life like doomscrolling / watching short form content - and this has lead to feeling more conscious, aware, mind racing less, etcButI don’t know how to consistently translate this addition time, energy, and focus into actually engaging with my hobbies And I fear if I do not do this I will turn back to social media due to how easy it isI am not saying this from a perspective of someone who wants to spend every waking moment being productive, but it is not as simple as just replacing distractions with other things to do instantaneously This isn’t exactly choice paralysis but I often find myself just sort of frozen or in limbo, not really doing anything and don’t know where to go from here, unsure how to outwardly approach things Sometimes I go from thing to thing rather naturally but other times I feel like I am just masking my distractions but doing other pointless tasks like researching shit I don’t care about, randomly opening tabs, etcBasically I just need some sort of structured approach nothing stifling but just simple efficient and easy that will get me on the right track, an inward approach where I find what to do, not search what to doThe majority of the work can be attributed to simply not using social media, freeing my time, mind, focus, impulse control, etc but now I want to know where to go from hereDoes anyone have methods: meditations? Questions to run through your mind to decide what to do? Mental simulations? Etc
.
How did you cut out doomscrolling? What is it you want to do with your time, what are the hobbies you're talking about?
