Like the subject says. I work as a table games dealer at an east coast Casino. I make way more money than I probably deserve, anywhere from 30-40$ an hour (dealers work for tips and split them based on hours so it varies a lot but less so than most tip based workers). Yes, I’m a professional piece of shit who makes more than I should. Feel free to drop a slur or ask how to get into the job if you want. Issue is I’m burnt out and hate most of my clientele. I have a marketing degree and experience running social media campaigns and designing websites. I don’t have any worthwhile connections to actually get a job in the industry I studied for. The job market is ass everywhere but especially ass in my area. I can’t go anywhere else with my current skill set and connections without taking a massive pay cut, and my time in college was a colossal waste of time so going back feels like passing a kidney stone. I’m almost 30 and I don’t want to be doing this for the rest of my life. Getting a promotion will give me a massive pay cut in the short term as well unless I get promoted twice afterwords so honestly I just need ideas on where to look for something less soul corroding.
>>34655762How can I get a job like this? I am a software engineer but I'm from the third world, I don't make anywhere close to that. I wish I earned 30 USD an hour. You should save up money and go to a third world country, you'll live like a king.

You won't ever have to worry about work, ever.
>>34655762Like, you can probably build a dream home with 100k USD in LATAM, I'm talking about a steel frame 280^2 house, buy solar panels, and so on. It's like 3k USD an hectare of land. You can build a lake and fish in it, damn it, I wish I made 30 USD an hour, OP.
2 years, it's all it would take to save up the money, go live in your car or your parents house, save up the money, retire. That's it.
>>34655838Casino dealers make a pretty good amount of money regardless of the country. They vacuum in cash from everywhere on the planet meaning you can pull in good cash. There are also online casinos that hire dealers so you might be able to look into that. It took me about 6 weeks of training to get blackjack at a level where they were comfortable letting me work but they can be anywhere from 4 to 16 weeks depending on what games you learn. I was lucky enough that my current casino gave free (albeit unpaid) training but depending on where you live casinos might expect either prior experience or proof you attended training at a dealer school. That usually costs a few hundred bucks in the states at least. Once you have the skills you can find work anywhere in the world. I have about a year and a half of experience and know how to deal Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, and Craps so in theory I could get a job pretty much anywhere that has legal gambling. That said the casino I live at is fairly low traffic comparatively so anywhere else would pay more, but also have more of the issues that make me want to leave. The customers are a special kind of annoying and everything you do is monitored and scrutinized. You will make a minor fuck up and get a write up a month later for it because someone’s boss’s boss needed to make an example so their boss’s boss knows they’re doing their job. >>34655840>>34655842>>34655845It sounds better than it is admittedly. Taxes eat a lot of it here and my work week is usually 36 hours instead of 40 because you often get sent home early. I’m a dual rate which means I need to do supervisor work once a week which cuts my pay down to 23 an hour for that day (not bad but still a pain). That much was a requirement for being full time unfortunately. Besides that cost of living is going up everywhere and I’m worried about trying to retire early without passive income from something. 1do appreciate the suggestion though.
>>34655935Do you work from home or at the place itself? If you work remotely, with a good tax plan, you can get away and not pay them a dime if you come to LATAM depending on the country, it's very easy to do it too. Dayum, I wish I could get a job at a casino, the only casinos here are online though, but they don't have dealers I think, it's almost a pyramid scheme.
If you just want out you can do sales. You’re a consummate professional who keeps people feeling good but also spending while maintaining some professional distance. You can do that immediately. But you should pursue the job in marketing you do want. I’m a big believer in no college degree, apply anyway, fib about your experience some, and with a full suit and charisma (you have it if you can hide that black pill bs) you’ll land that job you want.Golden secret which has worked for me many times over, with no personal reference from friends cold approach, go in person.Lastly, do try to be moral, it affects your spirit. Neglecting that will eventually lead you to ruin in ways you don’t expect. I know.
>>34656040I work in person. Remote dealer positions are a very particular kind of work I don’t have much experience in. But yeah LATAM does sound nice. >>34656133I don’t know. My job hunting went horribly last time I tried to get something in marketing and I even got passed up for a transfer to this Casino’s marketing department for whatever reason. I appreciate the good words though.
