i don't know friend. i ask the same shit to myself everyday. I am really envious of people in the past who had less shit out of their control they had to worry about. With the Voltaire example the other anon gave, I definitely agree with the sentiment that there is a lot that is totally outside our control, but in the 18th century there was less deliberate action by oligarchs to fuck us plebs over compared to today. Not so much out of lack of malice on their part, but simple inability to do so.I don't know.
