Summer comes every year and every year I dread it. I was going to the theatre once a week to make it better but I've seen all the decent movies. Its too hot and crowded and expensive to go anywhere. I just want to go to air-conditioned areas. My spouse has been taking work stress out on me. I really am stuck at home all summer. And the mosquitoes bite me. How do I get over it
>>34711599You can’t swing for a transportable AC unit?
>>34711645I have AC. I'm just stuck at home all day in it.
>>34711734Sunbathe. Discomfort is luxury if done right. Mosquitos prefer the edges of twilight. You get vitamin D. Seasonal disorder is a strong term. Summer is hot and miserable for many unfortunate locations.
Summer > winter any dayYou’re just weird
>>34711746I don't want my skin to get too tan and leathery.
>>34711746They get in the house at twilight and bite me every night. They only bite me so no one else cares to find solutions.
>>34711761>no bugs>less people outside to bother you>cold that's easier to fix than heat>drinks & food naturally refrigerated>able to make art out of the groundI take winter over summer any day>>34711599anon, I've had to deal with the flying hellspawns too. if you don't mind putting literal poison on yourself I recommend looking into DEET, it masks the smell bugs use to detect you but fucks up plastic and synthetic clothing so you should only apply it to your skin. another option is wearing long-sleeved clothing to make it harder for them to bite you, or maybe get one of those over-mattress tents so they can't invade your sleeping space easily. a fan blowing on you will make it harder for them to fly and disperse your breath they use to track you as well. if you can afford it, a mountable bug zapper will fry em' all night too. combine a couple of these suggestions and you'll start winning the mosquito war.
>>34715276Yeah I've done all that. I spray myself with poison every night. But they always find a spot I miss. I am saving up to do the mosquito netting. They get in through the AC units which I keep running during the day. I love winter because its Christmas season, all the kids are tucked in their schools, the streets are quiet, parks are not too hot and not crowded. I don't have to spend money to go out.
Dig a hole in the ground and stay in there most of the day
>>34715284if they're invading that consistently they might have an idealized environment in your yard, try dumping any standing water if you can find it, getting a bird feeder to make them cull mosquitoes, or research plants they hate/plants that can bring other natural predators to them like dragonflies. they could even be breeding near your AC if it has a bunch of water in the drain or something. wish I could help more, but I'm not a plant or fauna autist so I can't say for sure what'd be best there - the thing that was most effective for me personally was having a bug zapper, maybe putting one right above the AC will make the majority of them rush the heat source and die.
