How do you push past the inability to get started on something? Like watching a movie, playing a game, reading a book, trying out a new hobby. I can't bring myself to do any of it. I know there's a good chance I'll enjoy it if I can break past the barrier. But... I can't.

Maybe set some parental controls for yourself like if you're browsing 4chan or Reddit or watching Youtube videos or whatever it is you do. You could maybe have a program limit the time you can spend on certain things so you waste less time on them and then you can play a videogame or watch a movie or something and you won't have the immediate need to uhhh consume passive content or whatever.

nope, that's just a cope you tell yourself to protect your ego from that fact that you don't want to do those things, you don't want to watch a movie, read a book or try out a new hobby
the first important step in trying to shift things around in your life is to be honest with yourself, then you work up from there asking yourself why you want or don't want certain things and act upon what you can change
read atomic habits while you're at it
