All modern marriage advice seems to boil down to "only marry someone if you both 100% absolutely without any doubt or hesitation in your mind want nothing else in life other than being married to each other for your entire lives" and "if either of you think for even a moment that you dont want to spend every second of your life together you should break up immediately because youre just delaying the inevitable and causing unnecessary suffering"

I've never been that 100% sure of anything in my life much less getting married. Tf, do people think only 0.001% of the population should be married?

That is all true and that is the point. Marriage is retarded and you must publicly admit that you are that stupid. Do not do without commitment. You will only make lawyers more money.

Nobody should be getting married in 2026 unless there is a specific financial reason to do so like your girl gets a sickness and you need to get her on your work insurance or something like this. Otherwise it’s purely bad for you. That doesn’t mean you should not have love and companionship. Just skip the government cucking you part.

Half of marriages end in divorce. If people actually followed this advice, they wouldn't.

Marriage isn't about that, that's something the unmarried fear about marriage. And it's easy to fear marriage when you're unmarried, everyone fears it to a degree even the people who always wanted to get married, fear marriage to some degree because it's a big life change and a big commitment that carries permanence.

If you meet someone and they are someone who says shit like "you need to spend every second of life together and if you don't just divorce" that's the person you never want to marry. Because they out themselves as being extremely high maintenance and damaged, and that they are the ones who will divorce you for bit being perfect. No one is perfect, that means there exists no perfect marriage. The marriages that last are the ones where both people understand this with a sense of humility. The marriages that divorce are the ones that can't grasp this.

Yeah thats literally the fucking point of marriage, now that marrying for survival like in the 19th century is no longer required. You literally , actually swear an oath to be married for life, and as a general rule you should mean it before you do something like that. Its not hard to understand, is it.
>Tf, do people think only 0.001% of the population should be married?

Something like that, yes. The overwhleming majority of people naturally fall into a patetrn of serial monogamy, with relationships generally lasting about as long as it takes to rear a child to puberty aka biological maturity.Makes sense, doesn't it?
Pure, lifelong monogamy can happen, but it is more of a niche than something suitable for most humans.

With the possible exception of professional athletes, anyone who does anything in life without considering the possibility of failure and how they would cope with it is a fool. That does not mean that you don't do anything, but it means you face life with hope, and realize the extent to which you're relying on hope.

>the majority of first time marriages utterly fail
>alot of ppl I know are getting married for the first time/having kids

Wew lawd, part of me is envious that people found love, but at the same time I'm breaking out the popcorn and watching where these ppl end up when they're a decade in and realize they're stuck with each other.

It's kind of stupid advice, most people already do that. Then they get older and their minds change the way everybody's does. Like it's possible to be certain of anything

It's not the rest of your life unless she dies first. It's until a random day she gets half your money plus fees.
