>>34714153Soap is not a cleaner. Soap is a de-oiler. Dirt on your skin is trapped in your natural skin oils. Oil and water don't mix, and so a shower just runs off the oll layer. Soap breaks the barrier so oil and water mix and dirt gets washed away with the mixture.(That means, incidentally, that washing with soap dries your skin, but it is a price most are willing to pay)
