If the man is doing stuff that risks dying or shortening his lifespan, she no longer feels confident in said secure future so she will nag to try to force the sense of security. All women do this because their craving for security is as powerful as a man's craving for sex, probably even stronger, it's hardwired into them.

Men's health effects his sperm yes, it can make his sperm either slower (or faster) or deformed (large head, small tail. Small head, two tails). But all this effects is virility, his odds of firing a successful sperm into the egg. Once that sperm is in the egg, baby and mother isn't effected at all. Even if a deformed sperm makes it in, there's no deformed baby, no extra odds of disease. Because the only information a sperm carries is either an X chromosome or a Y chromosome. There's been some studies that tried to link it to an increase of miscarriage or pre-eclampsia odds but nothing conclusive was found. Miscarriage is 20% odds for every woman, and pre-eclampsia is mostly increased if the woman is overweight
