I am off to college for Accounting this fall at the ripe age of 26. I am horrendously nervous already even if it's two months away. I used to be a NEET for years after high-school until I started part-time work at a supermarket last year.
I have decent hobbies as I do bouldering, lifting weights, running and play piano. However, my social skills are horrible. Accounting here in my country is also 55% girls, so I have to confront that fear as well.
Do you guys have any advice for me? I am nervous about my age, nervous about developing a social life, nervous about the workload, nervous about everything. This is my only chance to make something out of my life.

The best advice I can give you is to hit the ground running in your freshman year. Network, join clubs, and work your ass off like it’s the final year of your life and you have something to prove. Keep busy constantly in your freshman year to give yourself momentum. If you act like a loser in your freshman year, there’s a high likelihood you’ll continue to act that way throughout college. Freshman year is vital for setting good habits early on.

>ripe old age of 26
Give me a fucking break. I couldn't go to college in my 20s at all for a variety of reasons, but I went back anyway. I was FUCKING FORTY when I finally graduated a few years ago. And guess what? There were people there older than me.
>muh girls, muh social life
Lol and there it is. This post isn't even about "college" itself at all, is it? Well you can get girls while not in college (maybe not you, but normal guys, you know what I mean) and you can be in college and still not get any girls. Likely for you, if you couldn't before. But you'll at least be around a lot more of them in college than hiding in your hovel posting here, so you'll get more chances at bat.
>lifting weights, piano
Wait a minute...this is Austrian ginger isn't it? All my /fit/-/adv/ OGs will know (sadly).

My goals for college are
>keep /fit/
>do well academically
>make some friends and better my social skills
>find a long-term girlfriend
No, I had zero success with girls until now but that was because I never met any and never put in effort into my social life. I put it in with bouldering and piano. College is my chance. How can I achieve these goals?

If you never put any effort into social life before, that's a choice and that was on you. So why should I believe you magically will now?
Also very telling you that you list 4 goals for college and only 1 of them pertains to college itself. That tells me you'll get eaten alive in your classes if you don't take it seriously. Even keeping fit...yeah great, but what does it have to do with college? Now if you plan on trying out for some school teams that's something else, then we're getting somewhere.

>So why should I believe you magically will now?
Because I already started it a year ago. I applied to a supermarket job, I met some people at bouldering and have a teacher now for piano. College is the next step.
I won't struggle academically. I am disciplined enough to work out, follow a training plan, show up for work and practice piano as well as study music theory every day.

you should be nervous
you're embarking on something new that has the potential to significantly alter the path of your life

in my opinion you should develop an understanding and synergistic relationship with your nervousness
instead of letting it control you, harness it as fuel for making gud on that potential this experience has to benefit your life, whatever that means to you

understanding it is a solo activity so you're on your own as to your special path there
but i'd encourage some alone time to confront, process and critically think through your feelings and thoughts so you can understand them better and where they are coming from, and corral that nervous energy to the means i stated before
not strictly meditation but taking time to be meditative, whether while walking or hiking or sitting in bed or actually doing the ohhhmmmmm
