How often does this normally happen to people? So this morning I was asleep and I had this dream that made me aware that I was asleep but I couldn't fully wake up. I was still stuck in my dream, but I was aware of my bed and my body, and I couldn't move my body and so that caused me to panic and scream and try to move my head. And I could hear my screaming. Cause I could also hear my voice in real life from my real ears. That's how I knew I was making sounds in real life in my sleep.Eventually I woke up as my body stopped being paralyzed. And I was like wtf.The last time I was half asleep and paralyzed was years ago.
>>34723619That's sleep paralysis. It's not uncommon. It usually happens when your sleep patterns are disrupted.
>>34723619I remember learning about it years ago but it's sleep paralysis and you basically "awake" while your body is "asleep." Supposedly supernatural phenomenon happen but personally I use the awareness to pivot into whether I wanna have a bigger dream by imagining as much as I can, or just gradually moving parts of my body to wake up
>>34723721>Supposedly supernatural phenomenon happenlol I remember years ago I had a dream where I was being electrocuted by a billion volts of lightning going through my body from my head to my toes. I didn't feel any pain but it felt like I was being violently shaken like I was in an earthquake. You would think an experience like that would mean I was ascending into a higher plane of existence or about to meet god. Felt like it too. Personally I think it was sleep paralysis. But holy shit that was quite an experience. I hope it wasn't a seizure though...

>>34723751>>34723619Nigger it's just sleep. For instance I feel pain when I'm dreaming.Dreaming, Paralysis and consciousness are 3 different unrelated mechanisms. I get sleep paralysis all the time because I stay up late a lot, mostly when I sleep on my back, and I dream my room at present time accurately. I have been conscious at the time the dream is being weaved in a particularly fatigued but unrestful night, and it's like shit's rendering before your eyes as you think of them. Also, the paralysis mechanism is pretty fucked, it also involves your eardrums tensing to reduce the sounds of your surroundings further, it can happen your eardrum gets a spasm and you hear thundering explosions that drown your voice. As you wake up your dreaming part may interpret the sound of a fan like wind, then rain, and finally a fan. Also I have had inception style dreams in which I'm in my room, I wake up in the evening, then I wake up in the middle of the night, to finally wake up in the afternoon in reality.
>>34723799>Also I have had inception style dreams in which I'm in my room, I wake up in the evening, then I wake up in the middle of the night, to finally wake up in the afternoon in reality.Dude, you were a dude playing a dude, disguised as another dude!
>>34723799>I feel pain when I'm dreaming.I have never in my entire life felt pain while I was dreaming. Wtf? Am I weird?>I have had inception style dreams in which I'm in my room, I wake up in the evening, then I wake up in the middle of the night, to finally wake up in the afternoon in reality.I have never had dreams like that. How the fuck do people have such dreams? I'm so fucking jealous of you people. I'm 40 years old for fuck sake!
>>34723619>How oftenAll the time for some.Less than once every eighteenth month or so for me.
>>34727977It hasn't happened to me in years.
