>Brother has always been the "I do what I want" drug addict
>History of mooching, stealing, sleeping all day, and constant arguments
>Gets out of rehab again
>asks to stay the night with mom and I
>Wake up in morning around 10
>He's still sleeping
>Immediately tell him he has until 11 before I call the police
>He packs up and leaves
Was I being too harsh? I mean I have plenty of reasons not listed to be like this but I can't help but feel bad. Should I?

I can't really say if it was right or wrong. I do know change is easier when a person knows they have the support of their family, but I dont know the context like you do. If he is actively trying, I would say to be there for him or at least keep an open door. If he isn't trying, I think tough love is very appropriate.

He has had multiple chances. Multiple people support him. My mom still does even after he pushed her to the ground. But every time we let him back into the house it becomes the same cycle of quit job, do whatever at night, sleep all day. As far as I know he still has his girlfriend he lives with. So far I am the only one that acts like this. I want to say he is trying, but every time I hear of a relapse it was something completely avoidable but he uses it as a reason to be upset and run to his dealer. I want to help him, but I will not let that pattern persist for even a minute any longer.

I have a druggie aunt that constantly gets into cycles of rehab and coming back to claim she's changed. She's done it for decades at this point.
He needs to prove himself over the next months or years that he is not the person he was. This may take a very long time.
Helping him before then is irresponsible. You are right to kick him out.

If he doesn't have anywhere else to go then maybe
