I want to become a cultured person. I am really depressed and lack any kind of interest. What motivates me is that my partner is a very wise and interesting man. I am not at his level and he will eventually get bored of me.

I don't even know where to start, how to study or which areas to study. I tried to make a reading plan using AI, but it recommended me things like the Communist Manifesto.

I just want to stop being so naive and stupid.

I asked my parents for advice and they said it makes sense because of the age gap and I shouldn't worry.

But it's not only my lack of intelligence and wisdom, but also my emotional inmaturity, which diverse Anons have highlighted and gotten upset about multiple times.

I want to be better but I feel really lost. How do I make my brain function properly? I also want to stop making people hate me.

My feelings constantly overwhelm me and I have anxiety attacks multiple times a day.

Read Hegel, lol

Jk. You can start with secondary literature. There are several points of entry for philosophy. Maybe start with Marcus Aurelius, or Augustinus. You can also take the approach over legal history.

Do you like things in other fields?

Philosophy is precisely what you're looking for. There's a book by Ward Farnsworth called "The Practicing Stoic" that would help get you on the right track. A general book about critical thinking might help too, like "The Science of Correct Thinking".

Well the lack of interest in anything probably comes from the depression. Ahedonia is a very common symptom of clinical depression

Other than that, read the news and take notes. Whenever you have a question (about anything) you should write it down and look up the answer later. Being intellectually curious is the best thing you can do

Also, you should read the Communist Manifesto. Communism is incredibly important for understanding history for, at a minimum, 1850 to 1991. I get you don't like communism, but you should know what they're saying
