How do I stop myself from getting up in other people’s business? I can never mind my own business. I’m always watching what other people are doing, listening to their conversations and putting myself into their business without permission, presuming a place at the table, so to speak. I keep my head down as much as I can but sometimes I just slip. It’s almost the exact same problem as worrying too much, to be honest. I worry too much about other people’s business and not enough about my own. Practical advice for this?

Try sybau. Ask a doctor if it is right for you

I think sybau is better suited to you.

Get your own job. You are doing it because you don't have anything else to focus on.

You are a man. Everything you see or even think about is your business.

I work five days a week from 8-6, but it’s a job where I’m in the community and witness a lot of stuff.

That’s a point of view I never considered. I’m on the fence taking it to heart, though. Would you describe with a little more detail how being a man authorises me to make everything I witness my business? It seems presumptuous. Again, though, I’m on the fence.

You seem like a neglected child.

I’m going to go ahead with the opposite direction with other anons, based on your writing, that you’re female. Everything you’re describing sounds like female behavior and very very specifically like one of my sisters.
Without being harsh, I’d say it’s an evolutionary holdover. Women used to HAVE to do that because soft power in social situations was their most specific and wieldable power.
My advice is to understand that all of that information is useless to you now. It’s not doing any use at all protecting you or your family.

You’re a man. If shit goes sideways, that’s your responsibility to keep everything in check.

I am a man, lol
I genuinely think my mum did raise me like a girl sometimes and my dad was not around to counterbalance her influence, i.e. I had no strong male role models
