im interested in doujin kusoge like Hong Kong 97, the Story of Kamikuishiki Village, Kasumigaseki, etc. i want to create an RPG that uses SFW compressed and dithered still frames from porn films. but im wary of copyright infringement and dont want to be sued.i really want to create this product tho and think it would fill a gap. im not going into the specifics in case i do ever release it, but i think the premise is original and hasnt been done before, so i feel very tempted to go through with it and see where it takes me. im a retarded 18fag and obv not a lawyer, but i feel like the chances of civil liability are pretty low since no profit is being lost due to the poor quality and lack of nudity (product). but maybe thats wishful thinking.it would also be free and open source.

But technically I could also sue you just as anyone could but there would be no reason to. So unless you specifically do something to piss of the studios so that they would care to file a lawsuit that has a 100% chance of failing you will be fine. Companies only file those kind of suits because they want to protect their reputation, like companies that make products targeted towards kids/families, and know people wont probably wont fight back or if they do its still worth it to try and lose anyway. Porn companies don't have any reputation to try and protect so you would have to make whoever owns that specific film, which is usally dubious if the porn studio is defunct which happens all the time, very mad for some reason. Theres already so many full publishings of porn videos by pirates thats just not worth it for the copyright owners to go after so I don't think your game is going to ever be a consideration to them.
