So today I was driving in the rain in Florida on a three-lane parkway. As per usual there was massive congestion because it's Florida and these drivers are animals. During the congestion, I looked in my rearview mirror for a moment, and the car in front of me suddenly stopped, and because it was raining, I couldn't stop in time, and I rear ended them.I immediately got out to survey the damage, and thankfully, I had hit the brakes in time to prevent any major damage (No visible damage on my car and only some paint scratches on their car). Then the driver got out of the car (unharmed), and I tried to show her that the damage wasn't bad. But this lady either spoke little to no English, and she couldn't form a coherent sentence. All the while were still stopped in the middle of the parkway while it was still raining. So after this lady couldn't communicate anything, I just decided to drive away and get into a parking lot. After I stopped in the lot, I saw the lady didn't follow me, So I went back to see if she was still at the accident site. But she had already driven off. Not knowing wtf to even do, I just went about my day as if nothing happenedCould I get into serious trouble for this? I mean, there's no visible damage on my car, only cosmetic damage on her car, she didn't follow me to the parking lot to exchange info and just drove away, and she didn't seem like she spoke good English. But still, I rear-ended her.What should I do?

>>34768451The right thing to do would have been to call the police (non-emergency) in the parking lot and report the crash and that the other driver just left so they can deport her ass. But since you already didn't do that, nothing for you to do here

Here’s whyThere’s technically the possibility that you could later be accused of hit and run yourself since rear ending her made you at-fault. She’d have to lie and say you were the one who drove off but it could technically happen. Reporting it first gets you ahead of the ball in case some fuckery starts to happen. It’s recorded that you tried to exchange information.But even that’s highly unlikely. If she just ran off, we all know exactly what that means. Approaching 0% chance she’ll talk to the police for any reason, ever.It’s insane to me that people who clearly can’t read the road signs properly are allowed to drive around with no restrictions, though.

Every single time it was a female nurse who told me her foot slipped on the brake. First time was pretty understandable and all. Especially check the air conditioning and coolant. She’ll sixty bucks for alignment check if it drives funny. Speed kills.
