Imagine you're an extremely flawed person and you get a gf. You're not sure why she loves you but she does. And then one day you get the chance to work on your flaws and become a better person.Should you? I mean she's probably with you because of those flaws right? If you change too much you will be something different than what she signed up for. You're risking her abandoning you and gaining her disapproval, so maybe you shouldn't try to change?
>>34770532Every day is a chance to improve yourself as a person. There's no such thing as an "opportunity one day" in that regard, every single living moment is an opportunity to be better than you were in the previous moment. You should be making the most of every day and growing as much as possible. You risk failing your partner more by stagnating than you do by fixing your flaws, because a relationship is only genuine and healthy insofar as it rests on a foundation of patience, compassion and selflessness. No one is ever done improving where those qualities are concerned, and every failed relationship does so because of a deficiency in those areas.

>>34770532No, that's retarded. She probably loves you for the positive traits you exhibit and loved you DESPITE your flaws. Although if you really aren't sure, you could say you want to improve X and ask her opinion
>>34770532>Imagine you're an extremely flawed person and you get a gf.you sound extremely insecure about yourself.
>>34770839there is NOTHING insecure about admitting everyone is a depraved sinner. That's Bible
>>34770532Imagine you do get a gf that loves you but guess what, she's a fucking uggo. 4/10. You're still you with flaws. You don't think that gf counts, that's your fucking flaw. Every other day you're gonna keep whining how this isn't the life you want, you will keep tracking it to shit that happened that was out of your control such as bad parents or other manipulative people in your life. What then? You have the gf, if you have children they will probably keep the circle of misery going.
I can't help but notice how every single reply in this board are "feel good replies" instead of actual realistic replies
>>34770958Cruelty turned inwards. People get off on this somehow.
>>34770532Even if that's true, would you refrain from fixing something you see as wrong because of a woman?
>>34771779yes
