For those who had a not-so-good college experience, did you find anything worthwhile afterwards or did you just accept that the party was over?

i just graduated and feel so fucking lost. my college experience was pretty mid but goddamn it's been two months and i didn't realize how many chances there are to socialize. dorms, classes, study groups, clubs, seriously--to any undergrad take advantage of these. you're bound to meet someone. adulthood is so fucking lonely, all there is is fucking work and that cycle is oppressive enough. making friends is hard, dating is even harder. i can already feel i peaked in college and everything ahead looks so bleak, being 21 fucking sucks.

>>34770704I had an 'OK' college experience - it wasn't until the end of my junior year that I grew a pair and began to socialize. Senior year was great because I deliberately went out of my way to meet as many people as possible. Unfortunately, I was a CS major and since graduation (2025) life has been absurdly demoralizing. Four years of toil and debt for NOTHING. I'm lucky enough to have parents that are willing to support me - otherwise I'd be living paycheck to paycheck doing manual labor... and in that case I probably would've anheroed. I've been a neet for a little over a year now (aside from odd jobs for friends and family), and I honestly don't want it to end. It's an amazing feeling to not have to answer to retards, faggots, or HR "girlies."
>>34771679It's so fucked for CS fags. If you had to work what would you do? NEETing is comfy desu but I think I would need some structure.
>>34770704Some of my professors were duds. That's about the worst thing that happened.
It was obvious from at least the year 2000 that every single college student in the world was doing CS and that sooner or later there would be more of them than there were jobs. Why would anybody in the 2020s commit to that dead end field?
>>34770704It was a good experience though my last year was robbed due to COVID, so being at home meant no room for meeting others (it took until then to snap out of the isolating personality, but too late, everyone already made their friend groups by then). Got a graduate job, then became a regular and then a senior in the span of 5 years. As great as the pay is, there is nothing to look forward to socially speaking, the weekends are nothing more than a reprieve of the upcoming 5 day daycare, so just public holidays are the hype thing for more of the same. The only feasible escape route is making enough to retire early, but even the crypto/meme stock phase is over. My endeavor is now money, and making enough to gtfo of the slave world after investing so much to get to this point.
Gotta say my experience was certainly unique. I was friendless and socially isolated til college because of tism and child abuse. When I got there I was able to avail myself of mental health services and start unfucking my brain which rocked, and try having friends. Unfortunately having access to dining hall food meant whenever I wanted was my downfall. I had salads several times a week, and due to my undiagnosed gastrointestinal condition, it meant that I was spending most of my time vomiting and or having explosive diarrhea. My doctors just told me to eat more fiber and roughage so I ate more salads. I failed most of my classes obviously. I was sexually assaulted by a loser in my second year who waited until I was asleep because he knew that I would beat his ass if I was awake. After year three I realized I was going to die in school trying to get a degree and left to focus on my health. In the end the most valuable lesson I learned is that 99% of the time no one is fucking coming to save or help you, even those whose job it is to do so. Make friends in your community so that someone gives a fuck if youre in trouble.
