So, around may of 2024 i gave myself a stick and poke w some sketchy chinese caligraphy ink off amazon, and i heard some stories recently of people doing similar things and ending up getting long term lead poisioning from not checking the ink, and i guess i just want to ask where to go from here

I dont have any reliable medical insurance, so if i test the ink (as i stil have the bottle) and it turns out to be lead, what would be my next best course of action to avoid long term lead poisioning.

Burn it off? Cut it off?

I would say serious answers only but as this is 4chan, creative answers are appreciated for comic value

Im not worried about how ugly the end result is, idgaf about scars, all i care is that its out of my body and im not gonna get a crazy infection or mega lead exposure or anything like that after.

You are very definitely going to die.

Probably in 70 years or so, and not from this.

If it’s been multiple years i don’t think you’ll get an infection.. may as well go to a tattoo artist and ask for their opinion

Is pic the size of it? You could be using straight lead and it's still nowhere near enough to cause any effects

Ok well that sounds like bullshit if I ever heard it

The genuinely useful thing here is that this person is worried about the wrong thing, and the "solutions" they're floating are far more dangerous than the problem. Since you're asking about the reasoning, let me lay out why.
On the actual lead risk: a small stick-and-poke done two years ago is a very low systemic lead threat even if the ink did contain lead. Tattoo pigment sits in the dermis in tiny, largely insoluble particulate deposits, and while some migrates to lymph nodes over time, the amount of bioavailable lead entering the bloodstream from a small tattoo is minimal — this isn't the exposure route that causes clinical lead poisoning. Lead poisoning comes from chronic ingestion or inhalation (leaded paint dust, contaminated water, occupational fumes), where lead is absorbed systemically in ongoing quantities. A single small deposit of pigment in the skin is a fundamentally different, much smaller exposure. So the "long-term lead poisoning from a two-year-old stick-and-poke" fear is mostly not how the toxicology works.
The correct move, and it's simple: if they're worried, the answer is a blood lead level test — a cheap, standard blood draw that directly measures systemic lead. That's the entire diagnostic question answered in one test, and it's far cheaper than they're probably assuming (low-cost clinics, public health departments, and labs like community health centers do these on sliding scales regardless of insurance). Testing the ink bottle tells them almost nothing useful about their body; testing their blood tells them everything. If the blood level is normal — which is the overwhelmingly likely result — there's nothing to treat and nothing to remove.

ok well thats nice to know, but im 99% sure i have OCD and its telling me i gotta diy some solution. I dont rlly have blood test money, and the best i can do is find out if the ink had lead to begin with.

Use wart remover. Lead poising practically is a myth.

Just go to the doctor holy shit.
>I don't have reliable medical insurance
Do you live in a war-torn third world country? I don't get it.

You already did it, its too late now. If you feel fine, thats good, keep it as it is and just don't don't again. You will be fine

Idk what that is, the purple guy? Anyway, it aint lead poisoning.
