I like my coworkers, but honestly, fifteen years in the professional world has taught me that you keep your professional life and personal life separate.Seriously, don't mix them. You don't have to be a fucking cunt to your coworkers, you just be respectful, polite, sociable, helpful in work situations, and cordial. You are being paid to work with these people work chose FOR YOU. But don't socially mix with them. Maybe a drink at happy hour, certainly the occasional lunch. But don't invite them on adventures with you.It more often than not ends badly. People discover your vices and preferences and when the time comes, they use it against you.Don't date the women on the payroll. They can spread rumors and do stupid shit to fuck your reputation up.And never work with your friends unless you want to lose them as friends. Don't recommend a friend to a job unless they are in a totally separate department, or you are on your way out.
