I turned 40 last week. I still can't believe it.... 40... I mean what am I supposed to do with my life now? Kill myself?
>>34774370Do whatever you did that kept you alive this long. Try hard at whatever you feel like your doing. Try again if you fail. Live and then die.
>>34774370well the smart thing to do is to plan for inevitable failure of your body. so i guess a pension plan would be smart. wife, so she can change your diapers. children, so someone could feed you while waiting to inherit your money.
>>34774370i dunno man. if you can kill yourself i guess there's not much worth sticking around for. I'm in your same boat but i can't, because the soul is more important and my folks are still here, just gotta suffer, we're all going to die soon anyway. you got a lot of money at least?for me its not just that im getting older and broke as i've ever been, its that everything in my life is falling apart and the world isn't anything like i knew it, everything that was good is gone now. everything i could do is quickly being replaced, and no one cares. and it shouldn't have been this way, i was a good student, i had drive and tried hard, i landed good jobs, but the rules have changed and there's barely even an internet of peers to connect to anymore, even 4chan is filled with censors and kids now
>I mean what am I supposed to do with my life now? Anything you want.Kill myself? That's up to you. No one online can tell you shit about your life. You are the one who lives it, not us.
>>34774370journal. go over what you wish you did that you haven't done yet, and take steps to accomplish them.we all have to come to a point and realize we're not vampires that will live forever. so sometimes you gotta drop the bullshit games we are up to to slow the clock down.i think making one of those charts thats need/want is a good idea. You have 4 boxes:Need to do/Want to do, Need to do/Dont want to do, Dont need to do/Want to do, and Dont need to do/Dont want to do. There's a chance you're wasting your time on certain bullshit like gaming or checking this site that you may not enjoy anymore that its time to unplug from to focus on the shit that matters. The biggest hurdle is your own brain and you gotta learn to shut it off sometimes or you will think yourself into circles like a retard in loony tunes.

I'm not looking forward to 40. I'm 35 and still a virgin who has no idea what he's doing. I don't see any of that changing in 5 years
>>34774370Life after 30 is a slow-motion suicide without family. It's all the negatives of getting old; watching your friends drift away as they start their own families, your parents and siblings getting old and die, watching everything in your life slowly putter out as the magic fades; without any of the positives of things like family or community to shore you up. Everything rots away and you're left with the bleakness of oblivion, no hope of anything continuing. Anyone who has experienced considerable ageing among his family members (or already in himself), knows how blackpilling it is. It's really rough, once people pass their early 50s (or sometimes even sooner) you start to notice the slip-ups, forgetfulness, the declining of fine motor skills, the difficulties understanding new information. Human existence is a tragedy, there are so few years that you are allowed with full mental and physical strength. Your peak years are mostly wasted with education, where you have barely any control over your own life, because you have little to no money nor autonomy. Add to that the time spent sleeping, working, hygiene, housework, shopping, appointments, visits to the workshop - what do we have left? Everyone who has to work for a living basically leads a precarious existence, regardless of whether they are a simple worker or a well-paid employee. Before they have built up a comfortable fortune and a well established understanding of the world, the body goes downhill.
Boring old fart here40 isn't even middle age anymore. Anyone alive today has to consider the very good chance of living to 100. More than half of your life may be yet to come, and you had better start thinking about how to fill it.My 40s turned out to be the richest, fullest period in my life. I accomplished successes professionally, had more friends than before, had an active and enjoyable sex life, and had new adventures in travel, hobbies, education and other life-enriching things. I would have missed out on so much if I had decided I was as good as dead at 40 and just shui down as some anons here suggest.
>>34778073Cope. If you time was so valuable and your life so great you wouldn't be here reading our shitposts.
>>34779787exact opposite is true there's so much good that even reading these posts did nothing to drag it down
