Not even mainland Chinese fit in. Don't bother; you will be a foreigner to them.
Just be respectful of their customs and shower at least twice a day, maybe more if you're about to use public transport (East Asians sweat less than Europeans or Africans, so we smell horribly to them if we get even a little sweaty).
You can probably avoid some misunderstandings if you have more formal dress. It'll encourage them to take you more seriously.

Also, have you considered not being black?
