how do you make friends when your not a teenager, it feels like everyone has people they have had year long histories with, and it feels impossible to penetrate any friend group or clique, am i doomed to be a lonely loser because i had troubles making friends when i was younger

>>34778919i have never felt comfortable with people irl, im mainly talking about online friendships, their the only ones i was able to find and even then i always feel like 4th or 5th friend that people have, i get human connection isnt supposed to be a competition but tell me, would you rather spend time with a colleague that you have spent alot of time getting to know, or a random person who thought you were interesting randomly?i feel like im wasting my time even trying because i can never make back all those wasted years, id always be playing catch, and if then, then whats the point, it would just seem pathetic to people
