stop comparing yourself to them
if you want something they have, then it's symbolically a reminder to pursue it for yourself

Develop something, literally anything, to be proud of yourself. I used to feel this way and then I started a hobby for unrelated reasons. As it turns out, that hobby has a lot of crossover with other things so I ended up with a pretty wide breadth of knowledge/skill in the process of gitting gud. I didn’t even notice I got gud until people started telling me they were jealous of what I had going on. As soon as somebody else was jealous of me, it all drained away. How worthless for us to be jealous of each other.

What was that hobby, if you don't mind my asking?

Gardening. I ended up knowing about different types of tools (both powered and manual), I got strong lifting all my stuff. I spent time out in the sun, still do and especially this time of year. I get up early because I have something I’m excited about in the morning. I’ve learned loads about bugs, trees, flowers, local ecosystems, different types of grass (people who play golf fucking love talking about that).
Sorry for the blogpost there but that’s what I meant by lots of crossover. Most people can’t grow plants (or rather, think they can’t) so even being decent impresses people. When you git gud people don’t even know what to say. Also I share all my produce and make people happy. I grow stuff for specific friends. Got a buddy who absolutely downs chamomile tea so I grow and dry it for him.

Reflecting further, you can surprise even yourself. It’s 4am and I can smell the chamomile all across the yard even through the tobacco I’m smoking.

Normality is highly overrated.

"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured"
