>people I know, but not really any "friends"
>few people I asked to hang out with either had other plans or were out of town
>therefore alone on the saturday of a long weekend
>45k a year at a 9-5 job I hate and am barely qualified for
>never traveled
>ok apartment in my hometown but dad pays for half of it
>no gf
>no degree
>chronic autoimmune disease that basically requires me to be within a stones throw of a pharmacy in order to get medicine/medical equipment 90% of the time

I have a bit of savings but that's pretty much it in regards to things I have going for me. Around 100k. Would love to fuck off and travel a bit but worried about how to get diabetes supplies in foreign countries and don't want to die because I was stranded in some third world desert.

What's the first step to fixing my life? I know I'm old as fuck. I lost basically the entirety of my 20s to depression among other shit. Genuinely expected to be dead by 30.

Does anyone have any advice

idk how to fix your life, when i dont know what you want out of life
>>
travel, you will be fine, just plan meds and diet accordingly
i am the same

sound point
if you expected to be dead by 30, then you might as well take a risk for getting extra time.
what autoimmune disease do you have and what country do you want to visit?

I don't know where you would want travel to but if you allocated about $10k of your savings, you could definitely travel around China and Taiwan for months. Their healthcare systems are quite good, cheap, efficient and speak English. Getting your diabetes medication shouldn't be too hard.

Assuming you're from the US, have a passport and can get a VISA, a flight to either country is about $1.5k, cheaper if you don't mind long layovers.

Once you get there, everything is relatively cheap. You could definitely get away with spending about $1,000 per month by staying at cheaper accommodations.

If you have $100k in savings, I'd look for finding a new job. Surprised you managed to save $100k working a $45k per year job.

Alternately you could buy a house, but buying a house isn't really going to help you enjoy life more.

If I were you, I would use up all of my PTO and travel around for a year. As long as you are frugal and aren't some retard who needs to waste a lot of money to travel "lavishly" you'll be fine.

It's fuckin difficult to plan meds and diet accordingly though when I have no idea what I'll be eating on a given day. On top of that, obviously if I'm doing TRAVEL travelling like not vacationing I wanna do it relatively light....tough to do a few months worth of medical equipment lightly -_-. I get what you're saying though.

Type 1 diabetes. Fuckin' everywhere man. If I didn't have this disease I'd fuck off as far as I could get for as long as I could squeak by on survival mode for.

I'm actually a leaf. Thanks for the advice though, I think it mostly still applies. Working on the job thing but it's tough with no degree. I'm wondering if school is the right move...I feel like I have to choose between travel OR building a life that I don't even *really* want, you know?
>Surprised you managed to save $100k working a $45k per year job.
Yeah got lucky with crypto a few years back. Definitely not looking to buy a house at this point since I earnestly think the market is gonna have the bottom fall out in the near future when people who bought over covid can't afford their mortgages anymore.

I have t1, living in the Netherlands. Sounds like you didn't do any research, insulin is basically free here. It's not America, you get health insurance and you can do things the way we intended them (subsidized, and many packets of insulin pens)

I'm sure for 100 % that there's travel health insurance that doesn't require you to spend as much on insulin as you do in America

My dad also pays half my apartment, I'm 30
Also no gf
No job
In school but barely

It sucks bro, I never had support that I actually needed, guidance on how to be a human, so I'm a slave to carnal desires.
Then I developed some mental disorders from being at home so much. And reduced eyesight.

And yeah dude, my next step is fixing my nutrition again because I remember that when my nutrition was good I was good.
So I'm thinking of having meal replacement bars, makes the insulin injection predictable, gives me enough vitamins and minerals that I wouldn't otherwise get with my shit eating schedule, and enough protein so my weight loss is uhhhh... Not losing too much muscle.

Anyway it sounds like you're still in the scared phase, at least I got over that, I'm still avoidant af and stay indoors most of the time but I did the whole - go outside and make friends thing. I'm powerful when I'm alone. It's good
Get on meetup.com, I'm serious

Also about traveling, get a frio bag, keeps insulin good indefinitely, I'm not that much of a fat fuck so 1 basal pen and 2 fast acting will last me a good couple weeks

No idea why you want to travel. You sound like you should focus on making friends which is harder the more mobile you are. If you're concerned about money I wouldn't worry about it. You can just hitchhike and couchsurf or bike and warmshowers. Your real concern would only be (((career opportunity cost))) but thats whatev depending on your personality.

It's over as soon as you turn 18 and leave the school system without a well established social circle. You go to work, but you won't make any friends, just coworkers. You join a sports club, same deal. It's over, because everyone already has their social circles locked in since childhood. You'll be nothing more than a coworker, destined to be alone for life. Social life and relationships are like trains you have to catch at the quay, a race against time that takes place during adolescence. And by extension, logically of course, no social life and no women.
But normies don't understand this because they are clueless normies who think you can walk into a bar full of strangers and magically form a social life like in The Sims. Only women can start from scratch and create a social life and get a boyfriend from scratch because of their status as women.

Whether you're 34 or 44 it doesn't change anything, maybe for the normies, but for you and me Chud, a year is like any other, the sands of time flowing towards nothingness, nothing more.. nothing less.

It's less the insulin and more the pump supplies, cgms, etc that I think would be the real pain in the dick to source. Is healthcare free in the netherlends even if I'm not a citizen? Like do I get the subsidized drug costs if I'm a leaf?

>>34784465
Because I want to see a little more of the world, on my own terms. I feel like one of the reasons I don't have friends is because my lived experience is so shallow and narrow that I struggle to be interesting or fun to spend time with. I'm burned out on my hometown, you know?

>>34784871
The fucked up thing is I had what I thought was a pretty decent social life until a few years ago. Started drinking less, so the drinking buddies fell by the wayside. The remaining friends I do have I see maybe once a month because they just....don't like doing anything. I'm not going to go sit at your house and watch you fuckin play skate or some shit you know what I mean? I need people to go hiking with. Swimming. Anything besides fucking sitting around smoking and bitching about work.
>>
>>34785248
why not join a hiking club in your city? i dont know what part of leafland you're from but i bet you there's one you can join to meet new people.
hope for the best anon since you have some circumstances that you can't change.
