I think many people haven't learned good coping skills, and they're dejected because of how life has changed for the population in the last few decades. Connecting with other people is challenging for many of us nowadays due to work schedules, financial issues, limitations within ourselves (social issues and anxieties), which makes us feel more alone. Many people genuinely are on the verge of cracking, and it shows in their faces and everyday behavior. These are tough times for humanity.
