How do I come to terms with and accept the fact that I have the inferior version of autism (ADHD)? I've always deeply envied autistic people and their intelligence and ability to do such impressive things. I've always felt like a retard in comparison and have always wanted to think like how they think.
>>34803314Make one of them your best friend, or marry one and then piggy-back off of their strengths to cover your cognitive blindspots. In return, you allow them to piggy-back off of your adhd strengths that cover their blind spots. The most common strength would be socialising and social-relational logic, you help them 'see' social dynamics by breaking the unspeakable down into easy and linear instructions or logic. They appreciate that immensely because God knows normies don't bother their ass to tell them they just bully autists or assume the worst of them. Just as they assume the worst of us adhds (normies think we are lazy on purpose).
>>34803314>deeply envied autistic people and their intelligence and ability to do such impressive thingsSOME autistic people. like 80% of autistic people are just straight up disabled and get none of the "benefits" of autism, it isn't something to be proud of. the vast majority of autistic adults are unemployed. take pride in the fact that you can actually socialize with other people without sperging out and shutting down whenever you're mildly overstimulated.
>Accepting ADHDGood luck. Most people think you have a made-up disease and is just a lazy bum faking it or trying to be a special bean>AutismIt's shit. Very stressful and you need to constantly watch your back while living in state of perenial stress. The intelligent ones you say, are mostly L1. These are the worst sufferers because they "aren't autistic enough". So they get no support and the same shit flung as ADHD.Have these two together and voilà, misery is just another name for day.
>>34803314>autism (ADHD)just do a parasite and toxin cleanse
>>34803409>Good luck. Most people think you have a made-up disease and is just a lazy bum faking it or trying to be a special beanBecause it is like that. ADHD doesn't exist.
>>34803409This. This is the real autistic life unless you get that 5/100 chance of getting actual good support from friends and/or being good at stuff. If you are an autist especially with adhd (adhd is the cherry on top cause you need stimulation combined with the autism so you are most likely getting nothing done) and you arent good at anything, nobody is going to understand you or want to know you. So the only thing you can do is try to make friends sounding extremely awkward or just lay there in fear and go crazy. (ive seen it too much, some of them are on s4s)
>>34803314Nobody likes autists while ADHDists or even AuDHDists tend to be the life of the party
>>34803314You have to work at it. It can be a “superpower” as gay as that sounds but we tend to aim it in the wrong direction. You have to manually work at keeping the ship in the right direction
>>34804304True, there is that "focus on one thing" stereotype but very rarely it is true.
>>34804296ADHD is a bit easier, medications and lifestyle changes.ASD is the real deal. It sucks. Oh god it sucks.I figured out after awhile, just need to blow off steam, find alternative ways to fend off loneliness and avoid getting caught up in dangerous situations.A little funny interaction: my physician complimented my athleticism and he asked me how i keep it up. I said: I run 7~10 miles everyday because all i wish is to escape this hellish society.Shrugged off with a smile to alleviate to the tension. However, I 100% meant it.
>>34803314How do you know if you have ADHD or just brain rot? I'm pretty sure I'm already a sperg, but I've never sought a diagnosis because what's the point and I'm kinda scared they'll say I'm not and I'm just retarded
>>34804593Do you have a singular train of thought or is it more like multiple TVs playing in your head? Would you say you have a poor short term memory? Do you often procastinate to the very last minute and then lock in? Are you often finishing other people's sentences? At the end of the day there's no way to know for certain until diagnosis but these would be good reasons to pursue diagnosis.
>>34804626Just brain rot then
>>34803314Fuck am I glad that I got born in the 90s. I'm literally on the left of that image, and I can not imagine how much it had fucked with me mentally if I was declared full on disabled with autism just due to that. I'm just a normie who enjoys reading books more than others do, fuck off with your autism meme bullshit.
>>34804626>multiple TVs playing in your head?I hate multiparallelism so much it's unrealBrain is a fucking sponge that absorbs anything and everything
>>34803314be grateful a cure exists for your condition (Vyvanse) and take it and move on with your life
>>34805679Not OP but that's not a cure that's just a treatment for one of the main issues of ADHD. Our disorder has many other larger issues that medicine cannot treat. A 1:1 example of this would be to say to an Autist that anti-anxiety medications like sertraline fixes their autism when it does not.
>>34805679What's the cure for spergery?
>>34804235You must be retarded, not autistic to believe this bullshit book.
>>34806399a lot of diseases are caused by parasites and toxins. when something eliminates both without side effects, its suddenly a magical panacea.
>>34804834I used to love reading. I think years of being a depressed waste of space have permanently ruined me.
>>34806251Perhaps with enough time Neuralink will get there. Not before being tested on a mountain of unfortunates tho. I can honestly see Elon desperately wanting to cure autism.
>>34806573So, anonymous, made-up emails that can't be verified in any way are supposed to convince me? Dude, take a good look at your life.

>>34806399>>34807079this guy's been baiting for years, trying to sell his snake oil lmaoignore him>>34806251Was there ever supposed to be a cure? Or we're just tossing slightly different people in the bin?
>>34803314I'm a cross boarder, saw this on the front page lmao. As someone who is suspected to have both (therapist said don't bother with official tests if I don't need proof), you need to structure your life to capture that chaotic momentum of chasing dopamine. For autism, it's a sensory dominant experience that's coped with using heavy logic, rather than coasting on intuition and vibes. For ADHD, it's structuring life in such a way that you understand and truly find the things you need to do interesting, and building your life routine around the most lazy and optimal solutions. Because you don't have the autism brain it's actually a boon in a way, you may not have as strong a drive to fundamentally understand all the frameworks of life bottom up to just fold your laundry. But that also means you need to find the lowest barriers for entry for figuring out how to do stuff lazily. God created the best tool for this yet, AI, that can do all your thinking and research for you and do as much or as little in depth as you choose. Its not like it's much different from reading random reddit posts or mayo clinic articles. If you think there's a risk of killing yourself from AI hallucinations, guess what, you were too stupid anyway and never gonna make it without. Might as well take advantage to improve yourself.
>>34803314Have you ever watched those videos of a kid with a 500iq who's going to college at like 7 years old? They are super smart because they have giga-autismo, specifically savant syndrome. But you never hear a single thing about them after that, you wanna know why? Because their giga-autismo makes them completely incapable of understanding or connecting with people. They are social diseases, but they can do mafs equations. You don't want to be autistic.
>>34808913being a autistic savant is really bad, because as soon as people figure out your "superpower", you'll instantly become unlikable.I have to constantly wait and pick my words in hopes of not revealing anything or spiralling out of a 6 hour in-depth conversation. Not that it matters, i'd be instantly branded a pariah/piñata/lolcow anyways.Last time i was in one, I've gotten really good at a MOBA, reaching super high elo. And i could tell it was awkward to be there, even with me encouraging and praising, they felt inferior.I've just went quiet and eventually disappeared because i couldn't take being the problem child in the room and the constantly saying no to "flavor of the month gaming".So i'm completely cut-off with no access to any social circle or programs/welfare services because i'm not disabled enough. And so, my life is eternally locked in four walls with a thousand spears waiting by the door. It's super shit. And i haven't even started talking about my laundry list of sensitivities and mental disorganization...I must echo your thoughts to the audience: You don't want to be autistic.
>>34809045>I must echo your thoughts to the audience: You don't want to be autistic.nta but I got adhd. I still want the competence that high functioning autists have. I feel like a retarded kid when I am in the same room as an autist, because yeah even though I can talk and have charisma and get social success I would trade it all if I could just have 1% of the autistic organized and efficient way of doing things. I know that doesn't happen effortlessly for autists, I understand it costs a lot of internal pain and anxiety for the autist and hard work that not many people are willing to acknowledge. But I acknowledge it and I'd still prefer that than the curse of being a cognitively challenged idiot who only talks a good game but when push comes to shove I'm a complete moron.
>>34809045Im the anon you replied to, that sounds like it fucking sucks, I'm so sorry. I have ADHD myself and it feels like the inverse of what you have. My mind is so incapable, I am not good at anything. I have no hobbies, I can't stick to an interest for more than a month or two, and I lose interest incredibly easy. I am a jack of all trades, master of none. But, maybe that would be preferable to your life and I'm humblebragging. It sucks that you are a social outcast, and I wish people would see what you have as a disability. >I have to constantly wait and pick my words in hopes of not revealing anything or spiralling out of a 6 hour in-depth conversation. What are you trying not to reveal?>>34809561>I feel like a retarded kid when I am in the same room as an autistThat's me with my brother. He has always been uber-smart and very cultured. I feel inferior to him. If I was autistic I would throw myself into all the hobbies, books, and endeavors I dream of doing but would get immediately bored of, or am too stupid for cus of my ADHD. I hate that ADHD is painted as the quirky disorder when It's just the slovenly incapable nincompoop disorder.
I had undiagnosed ADHD into adulthood because I was gifted and super effeminate, so I present more like women with ADHD do. Similar to >>34809561, the one thing I've always been jealous of autists is that they can just love something endlessly, unabashedly take joy from it for their whole lives, and be extremely confident in their shameful passions because they have no self-awareness. Meanwhile my ADHD is mostly just ruminating and feeling truly awful about myself because unless I'm hyperfixated on something, I can never get really good at it or enjoy it. I'll be cycling hobbies for the rest of my life. And my strengths are basically impossible to monetize, because I'm mostly just really good at being funny and humanities. My best friend growing up was diagnosed with autism. He's a genius but he almost dropped out of school multiple times. I did everything I could to support him in high school so he could graduate. These days he pulls an easy six figures as a finance guy who is smart enough to just avoid situations that'd expose his autism. I was a high achiever in high school but failed to launch after college because I just couldn't commit to any job without feeling fake or like I was trapping myself long term. I'm just smart enough and motivated by pressure that I've never gotten into real trouble, but I'm exhausted by existing. I work as a teacher and it offers a lot of variety plus I can be creative. The kids love me because I can relate to them more than most adults, but I'm struggling financially and can't even afford the simplest joys in life. I think a lot about how different my friend's path is and it's hard not to be jealous, even if it's more than just diagnosis that lead here.
>>34811972>>34812561>>34809561OP here, this is the exact thing that has been torturing me for years and I'm glad others can put into words how frustrating it is.
>>34812561Thank you for teaching the next generations anon.
>>34812561What grade do you teach and how good/bad are the students?
>>34812725It's very meaningful to me that it resonates with you. My diagnosis is something I still deny, partly because my OCD makes me question it constantly, and partly because I never had the wake up call that everyone else had. Teachers loved me and I was always considered a good kid/prospect. But from middle school I wanted to kill myself from the simple grind of going to school and constantly burning out in cycles of procrastination. Only in adulthood did I realize most people don't struggle to just get through chores on the weekend or even convince themselves to do fun things, or that for normal people being good at the main component of your job doesn't excuse not doing the admin bullshit perfectly. I've given up on any long term accomplishment and just live for short term hyperfixations.>>34813695The next generations are fucked intellectually but I try to at least instill in them the virtue of being kind. >>34813765I'm a small-class ESL tutor abroad. I teach mostly rich kids who have lived in the US and whose parents want them to keep their English skills ready for college admissions. The kids who choose me as a tutor tend to be ADHD-adjacent and I find them endearing. My (MDD) friend is/was a public elementary school teacher and the job burned her out. She quit last year because the lack of respect and rigor is ruining the profession. Most schools no longer separate by skill level because it's classist/racist/whatever (actually just cheaper because paying for parasocial workers is expensive). The lowest functioning 10% of students (combined with screen addictions causing a bizarre almost-adhd attention span) have basically pulled the middle of the bell curve down with them. American lliteracy is legitimately on the horizon. Lazy parenting is exacerbating the problem.
>>34814412Damn, it really is over. Oh well, maybe you can enjoy the collapse.
>>34803400I wonder if that's how Asians feel when people assume they're good at math
>autism gives me the passion and ambition to create wonderful things>adhd strips away my focus, motivation, and patience>everyone except my closest friends think i'm faking it all>most of my time is spent daydreaming about what could be or could have been>everyone i know, including other autists, somehow interpret "I want there to be a cure for autism so other people don't have to suffer as I have" as "I want a genocide of all autistic people">romance is completely out of the question Living the fucking dream over here.
>>34803314>Autism + adhd + butt ugly + no socialskillsI am actually really upset at being turbofucked
>>34803314Having Autism is equally shitty. trust me. coming from someone who has Autism.
im 42 and it doesn't get betterthe only saving grace for me is good neetbux
>>34817564Oy vey ever get worried you will be forced to work again or punished otherwise?
>>34803314What if you're unlucky enough to have both autism and ADHD?
