How do I stop being a man child that's secretly into autistic nerd shit and actually grow into a fully functional man that's into normal guy things?
>>

There is a venn diagram of
>nerdy shit
>manly shit
>shit in into
You just find the overlap

I don't think you can really just magically become a "normie" or whatever magical ideal you have. The main reasons you are upset are because you probably are unhappy with your looks and social skills/demeanor. The good news is that you can fix those (gym/sports + talking to people). You can also expose yourself to various interests and go from there and spend time outside/socializing. If you are on this site you are probably always going to be a little strange/different/into nerd shirt or weird stuff but it's fine because you can learn to be eccentric rather than extremely off-putting. Maybe those interests will take a back seat or go away, or maybe they will stay with you forever. I don't know.
Real life example: Nick Mullen. He is a (semi) famous comedian/podcaster who used to look like the stereotypical nerd (ponytail, skinny, square classes, acne, spergy voice) but now he looks good and has friends/dates/etc. Even with those improvements, he still gets nervous/is reserved/spends a lot of time alone/etc. So the point is yes you can and will improve if you try, but there are some things you will still have (either temporary/permanent interests or certain traits) and will simply have to deal with.
To reiterate on being a "normie" I think some of you guys forget that some people are normal but are also not too interesting/live a boring life. There are some eccentric people with encyclopedic knowledge and a certain charm to them but you also have some 4chan autists who refresh this site all day and are NEETS. Likewise some normal people are party animals travelling and talking to people but some just doomscroll/watch netflix/etc. Ties back in to wanting a better social/dating life/social skills as the real desire. Being more well rounded is good, I am not arguing against that.
I know this was ramble-y but I think a lot of people on this site could find it helpful.

All you need to have is enough responsibilities to balance your leisure- like all high functioning adults

Mullen is a 40 year old single nihilistic loser dude, lets not pretend like he's some well adjusted ubermensch here buddy.

>>34827937
Basically stop thinking like DFW. He was a retard sperg, and just because he was aware of being a retard sperg doesn't make him somehow better or more human. Literally everyone alive in these generations is self aware of how retarded and spergy they are. You aren't enlightened, you aren't intelligent, you're just romanticizing your own inaction as a virtue.
If you want to change, make a change, sell all your faggoty toys, or just throw them away. Actually go outside, go hiking, go snowboarding, go get involved in community building, exercise, work on real life projects that will last generations rather then devoting your life to some temporary pleasure points from your Evangelion Collection you fucking queer. No child wants to inherit a collection of action figures and Funko Pops.
If you can't think in terms of future generations (Lives beyond your own), then you're already too far gone.

Can't be done, welcome to forever alone

Learn from the normal guys, watch pill content and broadcast-podcast of normal looking guys that talk about how good is conservative or how should be women, or this is what a man needs to be a man and that sort of stuff.
>>
>>34831055
See anon? It is all bullshit, become a MAN and learn to ashamed sometimes you lazy bastard
>>
>>34830300
I never said he was a pillar of community but the point was that he is a lot better off than his past self.

What do you consider as "autistic nerd shit"?
>>
You have to betray yourself by conditioning yourself into hating all that shit. This is typical behavior of former nerds from what I've seen. You will most likely carry the regret of ever being into it for a long long time.
>>
>>34827937
>autistic nerd shit
What autistic nerd shit still exists that weren't raped to death by trannies already? Genuinely curious about what you are into OP.
I used to be a nerd too but I lost all my interest naturally when trannies arrived.

Replaying old pokemon games on emulators mostly. That and occasionally listening to the same music I did as a teenager on my way to work in my car. I used to watch anime but I hardly rewatch anything besides Monster or Baki. Sometimes I still draw in secret on my phone but I really don't want anyone to know about that. Besides that I'm a semi normal guy mostly interested in music, podcasts and soccer

I asked because I too was worried about what I'm into. Now, I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm assuming probably 20s. Not that it would necessarily be an issue if you were 40 or 60, but would probably be time to focus on kids or something ig.

Liking pokemon is fine, as long as you're not one of those people that buys up a lot of the cards and whatnot meant for kids. As long as you're not making it a big part of your personality.

I mean, I know guys in their 50s with children that still play Pokemon Go.

The music thing is frankly silly - everyone does that. Even if it is older music. Most music nowadays is trash anyways.

Anime is a little weird though, I'd stay away from it. There is this sort of stereotype that guys who are really into animal are paedophiles. I would say watch some good shows instead.

Drawing doesn't seem that weird. As long as it's not porn, I wouldn't say you should be ashamed of it. I mean, look at great painters, for instance. Or architects.

I'd lean more into the football maybe if you want to seem a bit more normal, but besides that, you're overthinking it.

I'm 26. I think most of it stems from my parents, mostly my dad, making fun of me for enjoying nerdy shit. All I did was hide it from everyone in my family other than my brother with the music and Pokemon stuff. I listen to a lot of music from different genres but I have fond memories of Grunge stuff like Nirvana and Dinosaur Jr. I used to draw a lot as a kid but stopped sometime during highschool, I used to want to be an animator as a kid but stopped when the industry got infected with trannies and gooners. Idk I always feel embarrassed to talk about my interests and just lie about stuff or pretend I'm into shit like hiking and fishing. I've tried to go cold turkey with some stuff but I feel like I'm killing my inner child by surpresssing my creative side. Another severely autistic thing I do is write long stories and fanfiction out of boredom. I don't even post them anywhere because I'm ashamed that someway somehow somebody I know IRL will find it
>>
OP genuinely I don't know what to tell you as someone in a similar position but possibly older.
All I gotta say is I pay the bills and I don't hurt people. I don't expect anyone to be into what I like. Sometimes I'll find something interesting that's more "normal" and latch onto that, but if I had to force myself to like soccer because it's the cultural thing over where I live (and I have to come up with excuses as why I'm not fucking interested in it) I'd rather just hang myself. Lately I've been into things like photography. It can be a waste of money, you won't make much back unless you're a legitimate professional, AI exists and people just use their phone cameras. But it's something I found after many decades that suddenly became interesting.
Maybe you can find something like that too. Something more "normal" that you don't have to force yourself into. There is something, I'm sure.
>>
>>34827937
Just do the normal functioning shit first then the nerd shit if you get extra time to spare
>>
>>34832799
>>34833085
I thought you were going to list a lot worse shit LMAO. These are pretty tame honestly. Like >>34833009 said none of these (maybe except anime) are that bad. The music especially grunge music is a classic and new stuff sucks ass. For drawing you can take art classes and maybe do painting if you want something more traditional. Music, podcasts, and soccer are widespread interests (don't know what podcasts you like) so you already have three things to connect on. For writing idk you can make a book maybe or just keep it for yourself.
Also these guys here >>34833240 >>34833342 give good advice.
>>
>>34831294
He's still a nihilistic loser. Find a better example of self improvement, there are far better people out there.

>>34832799
If normality is the goal of all your striving, then you're never going to rise above unhealthy habits when Unhealthy Habits become normalized by modern society.
>Replaying games I've already played before
Why?
>Relistening to music
>Rewatching anime
Do you have no drive to do anything except explore paths you've already traveled? If you really want to excel and develop yourself, you really need to step out of your comfort zone, abandon these old vices, and try to find something better than what you're currently investing your time in. Books, Gym, Hiking, get out and see the world dude, take a chance on something, then take more chances on other things.

Step 1, go to the gym and get fit
Step 2? Don’t worry about that until you do step 1
