Hypothetically speaking what would be the most efficient and "true-looking" way of faking a suicide attempt if I wanted my parents to see it and suffer?

I was thinking of bringing a pellet gun they have into my room and aiming it at my head/mouth with the excuse that I thought it was a real gun, but I'm not sure if that would be the best approach.

How would I even know what the best time to do it is, also? I don't want it to feel unnatural as in having to come up to them instead of them coming to me and seeing it, if that makes sense.

This is bait, right?

Well, no. I'm sure there is probably someone here who has tried to do this at least once, right?

A pellet gun will kill you. If you're that desperate, buy a bottle of Tylenol, dump the pills out and hand the empty bottle to them. Fake attempts for attention don't typically go over too well, though. There's a good chance they'll just resent you for it in the long run.

Just act dramatic and give your wrists a papercut so that your parents can waste a bunch of money sending you to the mental hospital
