Only sport I ever cared about is gymnastics but I’m too old for tumbling gyms. They’re also almost exclusively populated by women and gay men. Need a community that’s actually good for my age group (26). Willing to try anything (ex. Martial art, dance). My only exceptions are traditional sports like Basketball or Soccer because I’ve never really fit in with the type of people that play those

most people here don't even leave their house. make a bucket list, and try a few until one sticks because the group/activity. we don't even know where you live or what the culture is like there.
also if you're trying to find a woman join groups with women even if it's tumbling gyms. are you not interested in gay activities anymore?

Just look up for sports clubs with 'senior' (i.e adult) beginner classes. If you live in a huge city you probably have tons for any kind of sport, but I live in a medium sized one and the offering for adults getting started is quite minimal. So many sports clubs only cater to children or to people that used to be competitive children at it.
Racquet sports are always a good option, or not very impactful stuff like beach volleyball

Easiest is to be a regular at a bar.

It sucks that just going to the gym almost never translates to making friends. Everyone wears headphones and shit. My boomer dad has a bunch of friends he meets at planet fitness lol

Gymnastics would translate pretty well to rock climbing gyms.

Last RC gym I went to nobody really talks to each other. Only dude I made small talk with was a guy who went there alone for 2 years lmao. Most people already have their groups

Bars here are pretty much exclusively populated by folks in their 30s+. I’ve never seen someone my age group visit them

I live in a ghetto part of LA. There are bars that are populated by younger folk if I go near the beach but then it turns into being a place populated by upper class white people. I feel really out of place there
