Who am I? Perhaps a question I could answer,Searching the void of my mind for a fragment of power.A power to see past my failure and futility,A power to imagine what this flesh might someday be.Just another piece of flesh like the rest?Wandering aimlessly, never knowing what comes next?Never knowing what to expect,Or what waits for me at the bottom of the wreck?Who am I? A consciousness asleep,Waiting to wake from the darkness deep,With a burning kiss upon my face,Or a blow that leaves no trace?I imagine a day when there will be no flesh,Only bones in the darkness, cold and bare. That will be me, in the emptiness I always knew,The emptiness that never fades away,No matter what lies beyond the end,Or what I once imagined myself to be.
