I used to have old accounts tied to an old email address that I no longer use. I started removing all accounts where I posted stupid things as a teenager. I have changed my email address and now use email aliases and unique usernames everywhere. I don't have a social media presence of any kind, and when I search for my names (generic ones I must add), I only get results of people who aren't me. I always have this fear of someone calling me out for the stupid things I said. Is this fear unreasonable? How can I move on?
Quit being a pussy bro. I am a proud racist and I never deleted shit.
your fears are understandable, if a bit overblown, considering cancel culture is afoota good rule of thumb is trying to compare the level of privacy you have vs the level of interest you have garnered from hypotetically or not malicious parties and personsif the former is higher than the latter, you're goldentl;dr unless you are a high-profile individual or you stepped on the feet someone important or insane, you're safe
>>34845355most people don't care anon. you're not dating inspector gadget.at some point you're horcruxing your life into a thousand different personalities. who are you trying to hide from?besides the only people that are profiling you (palantir) are doing so right now reading the way you write even on here to try and identify you.if you want to fix your paranoia, you close the laptop screen and step away to a life offline.
Bruh I used to say nigger on Facebook back in like 2012 and I have a public facing job now. None of that shit exists anymore. The internet isn’t as permanent as people think. Plus with the increasing chanification of the internet no one gives a shit. I think in the future it will be perfectly socially acceptable to use racial slurs on the internet once the boomers die off. Hell Trump already does it.
>>34845596I created a facebook in 2012 with the help of a friend. It still exists. Can't log back into it because the email lost. No hope of remembering the password. Emailed them multiple times begging to delete the account, but no luck.
>>34845646Trust me you’re gonna be fine. If anyone ever does bring it up just say you were a dumb kid and leave it at that.
>>34845659I'm not OP but it still is there forever. I dislike that if I ever get doxxed, whoever finds the facebook now has my face, family, friends, etc.
>>34845673I don’t think the internet is forever desu. People always say that but I think they’re wrong. The internet is actually a pretty poor way to store data. Something like 25% of all web pages from a decade ago no longer exist. Facebook is only popular with boomers. Once they’re gone it will go the way of MySpace or Vine. I think the bigger problem is that we have put too much data online instead of in books and all of that information stands to be lost over the next few decades.
