So my GP is a retard and didn't tell me anything and I blindly trusted him. I was on SSRIs for a few months, but I've been off them for a few months now.The downside is a massive blow to my sex drive. Will it return? You'd think 2 months would be enough for any effects to wear off?
>>34845898It always do anon, don't worry.
>>34845898it should return, its different for everyone. I was on a low dose and was horny all the time, now I'm on a high dose for hopefully a few months only and its been tough on the sex drive. Something extra sexy has to get me off.
Dr. Sheklestein just castrated you.
I took venlafaxine for about 6 months about 5 years ago and it had a permanent effect on my sex drive, I’d say it’s reduced by about 30%. This happened immediately and it’s never gone away.
>>34845898How sure are you that it isn't the depression that's killing your sex drive?
>>34846535>How sure are you that it isn't the depression that's killing your sex drive?Cuz I've always had a consistent sex drive, even when at my worst. I was also one one ssri and had a brief dip in sex drive then it returned. Then I switched and it dipped forever.>>34846440Shit. This is similar to me. I should check what the name of the ssri was.
>>34846577So to put it into perspective:I like routines and habits, and pretty much every day since I was like 13, I would jerk off once at night when I go to bed, and once when I got up in the morning. That's my routine. If I did not do that, I would get distracted during the day. Then if I felt like it, I could engage in more masturbatory events during the day if needed. Now? I have to push myself to jerk it once a day and the climax is still weak. It's more like "I need to do this". I feel it's part of being healthy, and I hope the libido returns.
>>34846578Don't jerk off for a week or two and it might come back. Your not giving the it time it needs to recover.
>>34845898Did you taper off them? Look up Antidepresant discontinuation syndrome, common with SSRI's.I tried to get off them after several years, I tapered down, but apparently tapered off too quickly. Was really fucked up for several months. SSRI's can really fuck with your brain chemistry, and sometimes when you get off them, the thing you were taking them for comes back with a vengeance.
>>34845898idk. i dont take them cause im not a woman seeking attentionyou're a retard for believing your GP. did covid not teach you anything about doctors irrationality dealing with a virus?
>>34846744continue to be poor and low IQ
>>34845898I had to try a few different antidepressants before I found one that worked for me. They all have some kind of downside since you're fucking with your brain chemistry.Prozac made me unable to cum, I would fuck a girl until it literally hurt her to keep going and my legs were giving out and still not finish.Abilify made me so tired I couldn't get out of bed in the morning and was always late for work.Welbutrin made me so angry I almost got in a fist fight with an old guy who was taking too long at the pharmacy.I'm on Trintellix now and have been for a few years because the only real downside for me is it's interaction with alcohol and psychedelics. I don't drink much and don't do drugs like that so it's a non issue for me.You've just gotta find what works since everyone's body is a little different.

>>34845898find a new, younger, hotter womanit really helps
>>34845898The long term effects of SSRIs is they kill your emotional drive, including your sex drive. So instead of indulging in pleasure a lot of users are just addicted to stuff like food or even gambling or gacha, just to feel something, since negative emotions are muted, but so are positive ones. So you look for the extremes just to feel.. anything again. I really cannot stress enough how much they can fuck you up, and unless you have the kind of mental illness where you're basically at risk of dying from neglecting yourself, I wouldn't recommend them. Some GP prescribing them to you is almost certainly doing more harm than good. I think GPs see it as a way to get patients out of their office, instead of supporting them through a journey of genuine recovery. The good news is you've stopped taking them and the way to get your sex drive back is to become fit and physically healthy. Doing regular exercise is gonna flood your body with lots of feel good hormones and endorphins and adrenaline and pump the blood around your body and naturally stimulate your whole system into refreshing. It also means you'll want to fuck again, as your body removes the cortisone build up and activates more of your estrogen or testosterone.
>>34847026My experience with SSRIs was Zoloft, and I realized how fucking poisonous that shit was. I taped off slowly, it took me three months with a private psychiatrist, since the one in my HMO thought it would still be beneficial for me. Yeah, that fat lesbian cunt who saw me for 30 minutes once a month thought pumping me fuill of drugs was a good idea. This guy I got looked at my transferred medical records and said point to face "She's an idiot." and told me i wasnt really getting any therapeutic benefit, so we agreed to taper off. It's fucked with my head, mentally speaking. I'm much more prone to bouts of irrational anger that can last for 45 minutes-2 hours. My sex drive went from every day to every two days, and my creative output for things like work or creative writing has tanked. I don't know how I would finish this novel I'm working on without using AI as a crutch. I can edit just fine, but getting basic ideas to paper is overwhelmingly difficult.SSRIs are fucking poison that the elites made to numb people having a normal response to modern life so they can work. Horrible chemicals, and the fact that the medical community pushes them on mostly normal people as an easy-route crutch, rather than helping through life's problems and achieving self-actualization through things like work life balance and relationships and financial stability, shows how absolutely fucking retarded most mental health professionals really are.

You shouldn't be having sex if you are a freak.
