When I was about 22 I was working random bullshit jobs and decided that it was enough and I need to find a career. Originally had my heart set on geology, I was attracted by the thrill of exploration and the ability to hunt and find something potentially valuable as well as the freedom. Talking to people close to me though they suggested that engineering is much better in terms of a career and I ended up listening to them. I'm now 28 and working as a junior engineer in a company which I enjoy, but my passions are actually in geology but I feel like its too late for me, I would have to turn my back on engineering and essentially reset my career to go back to school, move back down the career ladder, and have to regain experience in geology.so wut do? do I just live with this nagging feeling forever or do I take the plunge and go become a geologist
>>34849076The best time to have decided to be a geologist was a couple years ago, but the next best time is now. Go for it anon, chase your dreams. That being said, make sure you're on good financial footing first. If you need to work for 2 or 3 more years to afford the degree then do that instead. Also, idk, but maybe you could just get a masters in geology? It would be a lot quicker than an undergrad
>>34849076Trust me you don't want to be a geologist
>>34849076try it as a hobby first, also*kills you with an obsidian dagger*
Every year you’re going to regret not having becoming a geologist one, five, ten, twenty years ago. It’s not too late, looking back at it twenty or thirty years from now
>>34849076Go be a geologist then, maybe the overlaps mean you can go be it quicker
