dropped out of highschool a few years ago and have been a neet ever since. im turning 20 in a few weeks which im dreading.
my parents said that theyd be willing to pay for me to go to community college if i can find some way to prove to them i wouldnt just drop out again. proving that to them would probably take at least a year as id need to enroll in some kind of program and stick with it long enough.
im super autistic and retarded, never really had any friends, and super afraid of social shit so im wondering if it would even be worth a shot or if id just be some weird old guy amongst a bunch of teens.
google says its perfectly normal for college freshmen to be in their 20s or whatever but i dont trust it so im hoping to hear from people with real experience of what college is like.

>"how out of place would i be starting community college in my early twenties?"
>isn't even 20
stop being a retard. it's never too late
i mean, eventually it is, but you're like 10 years off

>im hoping to hear from people with real experience of what college is like.
i'm 25. i barely graduated high school, was addicted to drugs which continued until i was about 22. i got clean, went back to school, and i'm now halfway through a biochemistry degree with a very high GPA as i try to get into med school

i thought i would be older than most of my peers. turns out, i'm not. a LOT of people are around my age. people who went to college straight out of high school often find themselves switching majors before settling on something. i've also met several 30 and 40+ year olds who are going back to school and trying to do something with their lives. no one cares, the younger students love them

i guess i should be more optimistic and less doomery about it

correct
if it's any consolation, everyone over the age of 21 unanimously thinks it's retarded when people your age ask "am i too old?" when it comes to literally anything

you could potentially even become a professional boxer if you got to work right now. Deontay Wilder had a hell of a career and began in his 20s, despite most other pro boxers starting under the age of 10

perfect age, go for it
>i'm too old or young for X
you will waste your life if you respect these thoughts

Job market is fucked, your best bet is to become a professional sports player, I know a lot about sports so I can give you a few tips.
