Looking for anons with opioid addiction experience.

Should i get on suboxone or try to taper? I've heard some say subs were a lifesaver and others say they had a very hard time getting of them and wished they'd just tapered instead.
I've been taking tapentadol daily for 3 months, so not super long but long enough to have become physically dependent. Currently taking 400-500mg/day. I've lost 10% of my body weight and I was already underweight. Barely eating, sleeping at weird times, not keeping on top of work and responsibilities, rarely leaving the house.

I'm very scared of withdrawal. I tried to stop street xanax cold turkey a few years ago and it was one of the most taxing experiences of my life. I quit after 2 days and had to do a valium taper instead. Opioid WD sounds worse than benzo WD to me. Would like to hear from someone who's experienced both and can compare the two. I'm also not in the U.S. so opioid use isn't huge thing here... if that's relevant.

Bit of a ramble, sorry. Basically any response will be appreciated.

But honestly, this is not something you want to get advice about from an anime forum: talk to an actual doctor and get an actual medical opinion based on actual research.
