so my mom is going through a heavy divorce. i'll skim the details, just know its messy and my dad is a scumbag. but my mom is so insufferable lately. i think she might be schizopheric i dont know. let me give you a good idea of what im dealing with here. one time she fell on the floor and she broke down in tears because my dads family put a curse on her and its zaping her energy, yes she really said this. when in reality she was just using dusty ass shoes (she has good shoes but doesnt want to wear the) she always leave the curtains close because my dad family might spy on her or something. and its clear this woman is delusional. anything i can do to help?

Might just be stress. If this schizo stress was triggered by stress, it could go away when the stress goes away. You can’t help much but help with chores or other household stuff (cleaning, taking out trash, checking mail, carrying groceries). Like a maid. Ask her directly as to what’ll help, too.

>>34852341i was in a similar situation when my own parents divorced. what i would recommend is to involve yourself as little as possible. your mom is a grown ass woman and even if she is a bit schizophrenic and delusional it sounds like she's perfectly capable of living on her own. she'll be fine within a few years. focus on your own problems and treat your mom the way you'd normally treat her (with respect, call her regularly etc.)if you currently live with your mom, i'd try to move out as soon as possible. it isn't good for your mental health (and probably your physical health) to live with someone like that, especially in the long term, even if she's your own mother.
