How do you even learn about wines? I work front of the house in a restaurant, I often get people asking me "which one of your wines is the closest to a chardonnay? which one is dry? which one is fruity?" and I have no fucking clue, nor does anybody else in the restaurant, the bottles have absolutely no information written on them about this shit

Go to a wine website and start reading up

I tried, and it only strengthened my idea that everyone who drinks wine is a pseudo intellectual who wants to feel better about their addiction

I'm not a loser

Not really. There's 3 layers : people who drink wine. People who worry about the wine they are drinking. People who actually know about the wine they are drinking. The last category are mostly professional tasters or sellers. The middle categories are what you call the """psuedo-intellectual""" (wtf that means). The first category is the vast majority of wine drinkers.

Truth be told, wine enthusiasts are pseuds. Anyone know that event where some sommelier won with a cheap gas station wine that he labeled something fancy, and they all began comparing tastes and praising the fruity nutty blah blah flavor and astringency and shit? It's bullshit most of the time.
Rules to make yourself appear knowledgeable to normies: 80% of all wines are dry. When in doubt, call it dry
All frizzante are dry
Porto is sweet
Red is more astringent
White is more flavourful
Rose is for women, but it's generally dryer and more tasteless than red or white, but for some reason women love it (probably marketing magic)
Spritz is wine with mineral water
You drink wine to wash the palate after eating greasy acidic food, in a restaurant setting, you don't drink wine to "get drunk"
Wine "names" are from the type of grapes that they're made from. So a "chardonnay" is a wine made out of the chardonnay variety of grapes.

It's all bullshit. Make it up as you go and watch them lap it up

Taste all of them and memorise the adjectives used to describe them
Or just ask your dumb n@ger customers to ask AI instead
